Traveling Before and After

Washington Fun!

Thank you, to all of those who are traveling to celebrate with us! Below are some of the fun activities that have helped me (Corey) fall in love with Washington. When you drive from Seatac to the venue, you'll have incredible views of the cascade mountains and find yourselves surrounded by a sea of evergreens. This alone is enough to put you in a good mood. If you have any questions let me know!

Crystal Mountain Resort

33914 Crystal Mountain Blvd, Enumclaw, WA 98022, USA

Highly reccomend going out to one of the local ski resorts in the summer. It's less than hour from the venue so if you're staying in Enumclaw, it would be a good trip morning of the wedding. Take the Gondola up, go for a walk (or don't) and enjoy a meal at the top! We LOVE the disc golf course that plays down the mountain, but also love the views. The photo on our main page is from the top of Crystal. It's a gorgeous drive out there, where you pass through some small towns. We've never done the Adventure Course or climbing, but have heard good things.

Website

Pike Place Market

85 Pike St, Seattle, WA 98101, USA
(206) 682-7453

Eat some seafood and do the ferris wheel! The first Starbucks is not worth the wait but the walk is nice. It's not very exciting but it's the touristy part of Seattle.

Alki Beach

Gorgeous, not too crowded area to see Seattle, you'll be looking at it across the water. Good for kids. Enjoy some seafood, the beach and a walk.

Space Needle

400 Broad St, Seattle, WA 98109, USA
(206) 905-2100

The space needle does a good job at showing our pretty mountains and the ski to sea vibe Washington is proud of. Definitely visit the glass museum too if you head that way.

Leavenworth Washington

Leavenworth, WA 98826, USA

A true Washington experience. Food is delicious, hiking is pretty and it's a really nice drive into the mountains. Very cute tourist town. Also, where we got engaged.

Mount Rainier National Park

Washington, USA
(360) 569-2211

Mount Rainer is all it's hyped up to be. It's gorgeous. Hiking, walking and admiring is all a good idea. You'll enjoy the drive looking straight at it all the way from Seatac.

Local Islands

There's two I'd reccomend if you want to get on a ferry!

Bainbridge Island - Day trip - Has good restaurants, walkable areas and one of the famous trolls! This ferry is best to drive on. https://bainbridgeisland.com/ferry/

Friday Harbor - If you're looking for a before wedding or after wedding night or two Friday Harbor is a fun way to see some islands. My (Corey's) best friend from college has found herself at home there. There's many tourist attractions, walks to do and one of our favorite disc golf courses. The lavender farm and beach's are my favorite when I'm over there. It's also a very bike-able island. https://www.visitsanjuans.com/

Oregon

Oregon is a 3 to 4 hour drive south if you're looking to check the state off your list. We can't speak to much more than the disc golf (which is great) but the drive is gorgeous and Portland has it's good parts. If you decide to head to Portland, let me know and I'll put you in touch with my cousin who has found herself at home there. She'll be able to reccomend hikes and restaurants. Oregon and Washington very much look the same.

Canada!

Canada is 2 to 3 hour drive, Vancouver is 3 to 4 depending on the time of day. Nothing too exciting to see but again a pretty drive. You'll see much of the Ski to Sea vibe Washington is proud of. The Vancouver airport is very easy, flying there and driving down would be a fun way to see the area.

Another idea is our roommate loves taking The Clipper to Victoria! The Clipper is a high speed passenger boat, that takes you to a walkable area in Victoria. He says, "The boat is very much apart of the trip and Victoria is gorgeous." Getting from Seatac to the boat dock should be relatively easy on the light rail. https://www.clippervacations.com/
