Several climbing spots in the South Lake area, with Lover's Leap being the closest. Plenty of bouldering in the Tahoe Basin and more stuff at Woodford's along Hwy 89.

West of Echo Summit, there's plenty of hiking around Echo Lake and Mt. Ralston. Down in the Tahoe Basin, Emerald Bay and Eagle Lake are really pretty too.
