Our Story

Daniel and Cori knew each other growing up in school, but it wasn’t until the summer before their senior year of high school that they truly connected. Daniel had noticed Cori earlier on, but it was at a mutual friend’s bonfire that they had a better chance to talk. They chatted about school, summer jobs, and plans for the months ahead. Cori thought Daniel was just being friendly in conversation—he was witty, outgoing, and could talk to anyone. A week after the bonfire though, Daniel messaged Cori, cracking jokes following up on things they had talked about that night. Their conversations flowed easily, full of shared sarcasm and matching energy. Cori quickly realized Daniel wasn’t just being friendly–he was pursuing her! Their conversations never really stopped, and a month later, Daniel asked her on their first official date: a bike ride at Matter Park followed by ice cream at Trailside Treats. A few dates and football game-excursions later, Daniel and Cori officially began dating on August 27th, 2021. They spent their senior year watching movies, walking their dogs, going to sporting events, longboarding together, and soaking in all the moments before high school graduation. After high school, they both stepped into a new chapter at Indiana Wesleyan University—Daniel studying Computer Science and Cori pursuing Pre-Art Therapy. During their college years, they grew a lot, both individually and together. They spent time playing pickleball, walking their dogs, going to church, playing board and card games, watching movies, mini golfing, and being with friends and family. Through it all, their relationship deepened in love, laughter, balance, understanding, trust, and compassion. Then, on a warm Sunday evening—June 1st, 2025—after a sunset walk with the dogs, Cori was surprised to see Daniel’s back patio strung up with lights and decorated with flowers, candles, and photos of the two of them. There, Daniel proposed, and Cori said “Yes!” The sweetest yes yet. It will forever be one of the sweetest days of their lives. Daniel and Cori have loved spending their engagement year planning their wedding, finishing college, and preparing for their future together. They cannot wait to celebrate their special day with the people who mean the most to them! Thank you for being part of our story—your presence means the world to us as we begin this new chapter.
