The Chronicles of Chris, Bentley, and the Great Southern Migration

After several weeks of digital witty repartee, we decided it was high time to verify each other’s existence in person. What was intended as a modest Friday evening rendezvous evolved—quite naturally—into a weekend-long tour of North Shore’s finest vineyards and eateries. Having discovered an immediate and undeniable chemistry, we collectively agreed that "parting is such sweet sorrow," so we simply chose not to do it. Why wait for a second date when the first one is going so swimmingly?

The Bentley Factor

Shortly after meeting Chris, I welcomed Bentley into my life. In a stroke of scheduling fate, my family happened to be in Italy at the time. This allowed Bentley the distinct honor of meeting his "Daddy" before the rest of the clan had even cleared customs. It was, by all accounts, love at first sight; the two have been an inseparable duo ever since.

The Ultimate Compatibility Test

We eventually settled into a rental in Bay Shore, which unknowingly prepared us for the ultimate relationship crucible: 2020. Sharing a living space 24/7 during a global pandemic is a feat that has tested the strongest of bonds, yet we emerged not only unscathed but arguably more entertained by one another. We shared a singular, burning ambition to swap New York winters for the Florida sun—a dream we pursued with what some might call "obsessive dedication."

The Naples Odyssey

Once Chris’s career transitioned to a mobile lifestyle, we embarked on a legendary quest. After touring no fewer than 100 communities in Naples (a task that required the patience of saints and the stamina of marathon runners), we secured our home in 2021. Despite it being the most competitive housing market in recent history, we prevailed. It turns out that when you can survive a lockdown together, a Florida real estate bidding war is just another day at the beach.
