Matt and I met during high school while we were both working at Target. He was the cart boy and I worked on the sales floor. We didn't come into contact much during work, but one day we both took our break at the same time. We started talking, and by the end of our shift he asked for my phone number (which he wrote on his hand). I expected I would hear from him in the next few days and was surprised when he hadn't called or texted me at all. About a week later, we were both working at the same time again. Matt explained that he had gotten a shower when he got home from work before he saved my number and asked if he could have it again. After some consideration, I decided to give it to him again. We went out on a few dates but just stayed friends at that point. We stayed in contact over the next few years but did not see each other much. One day, I had a message on Facebook from Matt and now here we are.

Matt proposed on a random summer night. I was completely surprised and had no idea that he was planning to propose. We were spending time together at his parent's house and he suggested we play a game of hide-and-go-seek. While I thought it was a little strange he wanted to play, I did not think much of it because we had played before. He said he would go hide while I counted. I started on the top level of the house and worked my way down. I made my way to the bottom level and saw him out on the patio down on one knee, holding a ring box. I never expected a game of hide-and-go-seek to be so life changing, but this game certainly was.
