Riley and Cornelia met in March of 2020. Cornelia just moved to Billings, MT from her hometown of Fullerton, California to start her news career at KULR-8 and Riley was a month into his role as a News Reporter at the same station. During Cornelia’s second week of training, their boss had her shadow Riley, which also happened to be the first time they officially met.

During the car ride to the shoot, there was no dull moment between them. The conversation flowed so easily between Riley and Cornelia, like they had known each other forever. During the shoot, Riley was nervous to have the “pretty, new girl” (his exact words) shadow him and have to record himself on camera.

After that day, Riley and Cornelia continued to text, hang out and get to know each other. Ultimately, making their feelings for each other grow. On April 7th, Riley took Cornelia on a hike on top of the Rims. As they sat on the edge of the cliff, Riley asked Cornelia to be his girlfriend, starting their whirlwind of romance.

In 2022, Riley and Cornelia packed up everything they owned into their cars and a tiny trailer and took the 3 day, 1,700 mile trek from Billings, MT to Chattanooga, TN to continue their Journalism careers at Local 3 News.

They now live in Chattanooga, TN with their sweet dog Winston and loveable cat Koda.
