Black Tie preferred. Men are preferred to wear a tuxedo, but can opt for a black suit with a bow tie or formal tie. The color Black is preferred for everyone as well! Woman are required to wear a floor length gown or ankle length dress where possible. Sundresses or maxi dresses, any shade of white, ivory, or very white patterned dresses are NOT permitted. Dress to impress as this is a formal event! Congress Hall is a historic hotel, so we are treating this as a chance to lean into the glamour and dress up, so we encourage our guests to do the same. The Bridesmaid’s will be dressed in black evening gowns, and the Groomsmen will be in tuxedos.
Where is the ceremony?
The ceremony is on the Great Lawn at Congress Hall. All events including the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and after party are at Congress Hall. The ceremony and cocktail hour is outside. There will be heaters for cocktail hour if need be.
Will this be an unplugged ceremony?
We realize everyone will want to record their own videos and take their own pictures. If anyone would like to do so, please keep it very limited, and if you are on the end, make sure you are not blocking our photographer or standing in the aisle, as well as that your phone is on silent, thank you.
Will there be an open bar?
Of course there will be!
What if it rains?
The ceremony and cocktail hour will remain outside regardless. Congress hall has a large overhang over the Veranda Bar( where the cocktail hour is) as well as around their building, so if it is raining there will be coverage.
Are kids aloud?
As much as we love your children, this is an adult only event.
Is there a hotel block?
Yes! Please refer to the travel tab for more information. Keep in mind as time goes on, the hotel will fill up with regular hotel guests along with our wedding guests, and with that the room rate will rise.
What is the parking situation at the venue?
If you are staying at Congress Hall, or The Star, you won’t have to worry about this as you will be on premises/ next street over. For those who are not staying at Congress Hall, there will be complimentary valet parking for the duration of the wedding. However, the way we’re planning to party, we don’t suggest driving!
Can I bring a plus one? My friend? My kids?
We are so lucky to have so many loved ones joining us that we are at capacity for the venue. Therefore we are unable to accommodate plus ones/ anyone additional, and only guests to whom our invitations were specifically addressed to. Thank you for understanding.
