The Proposal

Picture of The Proposal

On Friday, December 19th, 2014, Cortney picked Sam up from work with the intentions of going on a "date night" for dinner in Old Town. They were going to try a fancy restaurant that they had never eaten at before. Little did Cortney know...

They were at Cortney's apartment having some wine before their dinner reservation when Sam reached into his backpack and pulled out a gold shiny ornament. He told Cortney that he had gotten her an ornament for her little Charlie Brown Christmas tree in her apartment. She looked at it and said, "Okay...thanks! Let's put it on the tree." Sam wanted her to open it first and told her that she could put things inside of it if she wanted. Cortney cautiously opened the ornament, and inside was the most beautiful sparkling engagement ring she had ever seen! She could barely even look at the ring before Sam was down on one knee asking for her hand in marriage. Cortney asked if this was for real and then excitedly accepted! But the night was no where near over yet...

After Cortney had called her parents and stopped crying (kind of) there was a knock at her apartment door. It was Sam's parents, Beth and Duayne, with a picnic basket in hand full of champagne, cheese, and other celebratory goodies. A few minutes later, another knock, this time it was Cortney's parents and sister, Laurie, Jerry, and Codi. She was beyond surprised! After many champagne toasts and pictures, we were off to dinner. Sam informed Cortney that they would not be going to the restaurant that they had originally planned on, and a stretch limo was waiting for them outside of her apartment! They all rode in the limo to The Dawson for dinner. After a lovely dinner with their families, Cortney and Sam's friends and relatives started popping out from the bar area! Around 50 people total came out to celebrate the love of Sam and Cortney. It was the most magical evening that will certainly never be forgotten.
