One of the best places in the United States to go hiking and only 10 minutes from our venue! Angels Landing and the Zion Narrows are two bucket-list hikes that attract thousands of visitors every year, but there are also many short, family-friendly hikes to choose from.
Plan to use the shuttle system or, our preferred method of transportation, an e-bike to navigate the park! There is a $20/person/day entry fee unless you qualify for an exception.
For family-friendly experiences check out Joe's Guide to Zion National Park to find many short/accessible trails for everyone to enjoy! You can also utilize Guided Zion Hikes if you want a local expert to lead the way - we hear Clay is awesome!
Porter's Restaurant & Bumbleberry Bakery - Outdoor seating, great brunch options, and a unique selection of Zion merch. We stumbled across this directly after our engagement and had the BEST waffles and coffee!
Bit & Spur Saloon - Where we celebrated our engagement dinner! A true southwestern establishment with great margaritas and pool.
Meme's Cafe - Great outdoor seating and specialty crepes and sandwiches.
There are many more cafes and eateries to discover in the area, including inside the park! You won't be disappointed in the brunch, dinner, or brews here.
Our Top Recommendation!
Easy 1 Mile Out & Back (30 minutes)
Visit the spot that Luke proposed on this easy jaunt to an incredible lookout! Because this is so easily accessible, we recommend going early in the morning to avoid crowds!
Hard 5.5 miles Out & Back (4+ hours)
The Angels Landing Trail is a technical route with steep drop-offs and very narrow sections. The incredible views of the Canyon make this hike the most popular in Zion.
If this seems too intense, you can checkout Scout Lookout Trail which is still a challenge, not as dangerous, and doesn't require a permit!
Hard 9 Miles Out & Back (4-6 hours)
It’s simple. It’s a must-do hike! As you hike through the blue water in the gorge, you will look up at rocky canyon walls a thousand feet tall as you walk through the Virgin River. Water levels can vary from ankle deep to chest high, and as with all slot canyons, caution should be used and the weather forecast should be checked.
Moderate 7 Mile Out & Back (3 hours)
The best big view in Zion National Park is Observation Point. It stands nearly 1000 feet taller than Angels Landing and offers spectacular canyon views. If you have the energy and
motivation, tackle this hike!
Panoramic Helicopter Flights starting at $99!
This company also offers many other guided experiences such as e-bike tours and Jeep tours, and ziplining is coming soon!
A fantasyland of hoodoos, bizarre rock formations, and sandstone pillars. These hoodoos are the main ingredient in creating the unique landscape you see at Bryce Canyon National Park a 1-hour 45-minute drive from Zion.
Top Experiences: Some of the best viewpoints are right along the rim, which is easily accessible by car or the shuttle: Sunrise Point, Sunset Point, Inspiration Point, and Bryce Point. Hike the Queens Garden and Navajo Loop, a 3-mile hike past some of the best scenery in the park. Rainbow Point and Yovimpa Point also boast beautiful views.
Capitol Reef National Park - 3 Hours from Zion
Capitol Reef National Park offers more than 200 miles of hiking trails and off-road vehicular tours that take you to the park’s most photogenic sites. Rock climbing, bicycle tour, and horseback excursions are among the other activities that visitors can enjoy.
Top Experiences: Drive the 16-mile round-trip drive along Scenic Drive, drive Capitol Gorge Road, hike to Hickman Bridge, and watch the sunset from Sunset Point. Cassidy Arch is another popular hike to add to the list.
Arches National Park - 4 Hours from Zion
A wonderland of strange rock formations, short hiking trails, and you guessed it, arches. Not only will you find over 2,000 arches here, but you will also see hoodoos, fins of sandstone rocks, massive mesas, and balanced rocks.
Top Experiences: Hike to Delicate Arch, see Balanced Rock and the Fiery Furnace, visit Double Arch, Turret Arch, and Windows Arch, and hike Park Avenue.
Canyonlands National Park - 4.5 Hours from Zion
Canyonlands National Park has more than 300,000 acres of buttes and valleys carved by the Green and Colorado river systems.
Top Experiences: See the sunrise at Mesa Arch, visit the overlooks (Grand View Point, Buck Canyon Overlook, Shafer Canyon Viewpoint), hike around Upheaval Dome, and hike the Druid Hill hike in The Needles.
