Cory and Heidi met December 17, 2019 while being stationed at Katterbach Kaserne in Ansbach Germany. Cory was serving as an aviation mechanic, while Heidi was serving as military police officer (MP). A barracks party was taking place one weekend in the aviation barracks when a mutual friend of Cory & Heidi, (Lexi) invited Heidi to come over. Heidi was working local patrol in the area that night and decided to stop by, and that’s the when she met Cory. After Heidi’s shift was over she went back to the party, and that was when Cory asked Heidi to two-step, neither knowing the other person was interested in them.

Cory and Heidi eventually stayed friends for 2-years, both in different relationships on and off, when one night they both ended up at the Freuhlingsfest (spring festival) in downtown Ansbach. That night they drank beer and danced on the tables with the locals. Cory asked Heidi if he could kiss her, and saw each other everyday after that.
