Elko is the home of the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering, and this is their headquarters! You can enjoy gifts made by people in the area, check out the old bar, and enjoy their museum/gallery.

California Trail Interpretive Center

The California Trail followed along the Humbolt River (for as long as it lasts). This free museum gives some insight to their journey as they dealt with everything from dehydration to succumbing to Donner Pass (and who was actually consumed there).
