Walking around Austin can create quite an appetite, and there are many spots to indulge &nbsp;your taste buds. Of course, Austin is known for it's BBQ and tacos, but you can find most any type of cuisine. You may be pleasantly surprised by the variety and the&nbsp;quality&nbsp;food trucks have to offer.

FOOD TRUCKS











Tumble 22:&nbsp;One of the best Nashville hot chicken&nbsp;you will get anywhere. Get the hot chicken sandwich.



Via 313: Not quite deep dish and definitely not thin crust, but 100% divine.



Veracruz:&nbsp;One of&nbsp;Austin's most&nbsp;famous taco places with a great outdoor spot to sit. They are most famous for their migas taco.&nbsp;

Creme&nbsp;de la avocado crema: The best of Austin! I&nbsp;butchered the names of the tacos, but you'll forgive me after your mouth and belly are full of tacos, tacos, tacos!



My ranking for tacos is:&nbsp;Pueblo Viejo (Quesadilla Taco)&nbsp;, Taco Deli (Frontera Steak with&nbsp;Green Dona Sauce), One Taco (Norte, Gowalla), Veracruz (Migas), Torchy's (Trailer Park - Trashy Style, and do not skip over the queso!), Texas Honey Ham (Build-your-own-taco)







NOT TACOS







Elizabeth St. Cafe: One of the best and most unique brunch spots. It is a Vietnamese-French restaurant,&nbsp;so get the pastries and&nbsp;anything with veggies.







Red Ash: The best deal is during happy hour (430-630pm all the food is half off!)! Get everything on the happy hour menu!







Clark's Oyster Bar:&nbsp;Another great happy hour. One of the best burgers you will get anywhere in the country&nbsp;and top that off with a Vesper Martini.







Better Half:&nbsp;Get the jalepeno&nbsp;honey&nbsp;butter ham biscuit. Melts in your hands and your mouth.





Wu Chow: Farm-to-table Chinese food.&nbsp;Our favorite thing to do is get&nbsp;Sunday&nbsp;Dim&nbsp;Sum Brunch, and then walk to Rainey Street&nbsp;for some live music!Licha's Cantina: Fun east side spot for more&nbsp;authentic&nbsp;Mexican and delicious margaritas!







BBQ







Franklin's: World renowned BBQ brisket!!!!! You will wait in line (starting at 630am), but it is the best BBQ&nbsp;you will ever have. 







La Barbecue:&nbsp;A close #2, but you won't have to wait as long in line. One beef rib per person is necessary. It comes with a 2 hour nap.





Lamberts:&nbsp;A classy take on BBQ. The frito pie is the must order here.&nbsp;





Whole Foods: I'm not kidding. Whole Food's barbecue stand is both amazing and convenient.&nbsp;





TOP TIER





Uchi: Voted one of the best Sushi places in the country. It's a lot&nbsp;fun if you want to spend a little $$. 





Kemuri Tatsu-ya: An amazing Japan restaurant with a couple unique twists. Try something from the You Nasty menu. They look pretty gross but they are true flavor bombs.&nbsp;





Odd Duck: Top Tier American small plate&nbsp;cuisine!





June's: A great place to go for an early dinner. During happy hour their food is half price. The bone marrow bolognese is to die for.&nbsp;

AUSTIN SIGHTS

There is plenty to do in this bustling town when not indulging in tacos or listening to live music!&nbsp;

Barton Springs Pool: Large natural swimming hole with super cool water year round. Great spot for an afternoon dip - an Austin classic!

The Texas Capitol Building: A lot of important history has taken place in Austin. More information on free tours can be found <a href="https://tspb.texas.gov/plan/tours/tours.html" target="_blank">here</a>.&nbsp; 

Lady Bird Lake: One of our favorite parts of&nbsp;Austin! The "lake" (a dammed section of the Colorado River) has an 11-mile walking trail around it. Paddleboard and kayak rentals can be found in a variety of locations.&nbsp;University of&nbsp;Texas: HOOK 'EM!&nbsp;Take time to explore the campus of&nbsp;one of the largest universities in the US - home to over 40,000 students. The Tower is the most iconic building on campus, but the stadium's sheer size (can hold over 105,000 people)&nbsp;is also impressive.

Bat Viewing:&nbsp;Many tourists flock to the Congress St. bridge at sunset to see Austin's 1.5 million bats head out into the night in search of their breakfast&nbsp;- quite a sight to see!&nbsp;A better way to see the bats is&nbsp;from the water&nbsp;on an affordable bat cruise. Book <a href="http://www.capitalcruises.com/bat-watching/">here</a>. 

Whole Foods: Located under the company's corporate headquarters is the Flagship Whole Foods, which has 3 restaurants and many fast casual options inside! Great spot to grab a quick, healthy lunch.&nbsp; 

South Congress area:&nbsp;Where the saying&nbsp;"Keep Austin Weird" truly shines. Walk around this neighborhood to see some interesting shops and try on cowboy hats and boots.&nbsp; 

Rainey Street: What used to be a quiet street with small houses on it, has now been transformed into one of Austin's most popular going out areas. Bars occupy the houses that&nbsp;line this road, and there is never a dull moment. Best area to stumble across live music. 

Bob Bullock&nbsp;Texas State History Museum:&nbsp;In the event of a rainy day, this museum is a Travis Good&nbsp;favorite. Also nearby is the The Blanton Art Museum and the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library.&nbsp; Austin Public Library: This public library located in the heart of downtown opened in late 2017. It has gotten international acclaim for its design, and features a rooftop garden deck with great view of Lady Bird Lake.&nbsp;

BREWERIESThe beer scene in Texas had a slow start, but now Austin is home to a variety half decent breweries.&nbsp;Lazarus:&nbsp;Probably our favorite! Located on the east side, this new brewery features good beers and even&nbsp;better coffee.&nbsp;The&nbsp;ABGB: A little off the beaten path, this brewery has ample outdoor seating and a great menu featuring pizza and healthy sandwiches.&nbsp; Bangers: Known for their Sunday brunch, this massive beer bar also serves 1L manmosas and hosts a weekly brass band. With over 100 taps, this is a great stop on Rainey Street for any time of day! Zilker Brewing Company:&nbsp;Another east side spot... our favorites are the Marco IPA&nbsp;and their Coffee Milk Stout.&nbsp;COCKTAILSWhistler's: Best old fashioned on this&nbsp;side of the Mississippi!&nbsp;A tiny&nbsp;mezcal bar exists upstairs as well.&nbsp;

Tyler is Roger's life-long friend, from mad scientist high school experiments to college roommates and fraternity brothers. They have shared so many unforgettable&nbsp;(good and bad)&nbsp;memories, this will be a great one to add. Tyler is known as the hard worker of the group, showing off as an incredible athlete and a nano particle fabricator.

Kelsey is Courtney's younger (and favorite)&nbsp;sister and constant companion. A new pediatric&nbsp;nurse, Courtney relies on Kelsey for her medical advice while Kelsey comes to Courtney for life advice from her bossy older sister. Kelsey may have been as excited for Courtney's engagement as she was!&nbsp;Always down for an adventure with her sister, Courtney knows Kelsey will be a great Maid of Honor.&nbsp;

Mickin is by far the most sophisticated of the group. When Mickin is not at some&nbsp;underground, Singaporean restaurant in an obscure part of Washington DC, you will find him on an enlightened plain as a Brodihisttva. Besides that, Mickin and Roger were roommates during college, and obviously it was a great experience.&nbsp;

Krissey and Courtney rekindled their friendship at UVA first year after meeting as mediocre soccer players&nbsp;in Reston. When people ask, "Can they kick it?", the resounding answer is no, but they have been inseparable for most of their adult lives. While sharing an apartment is Adams Morgan, they hosted many gatherings and love&nbsp;going to concerts together. Courtney couldn't imagine walking down the aisle (... or wedding planning)&nbsp;without Krissey!

Josh is in Roger's Hall of Fame as oldest friend of all time. They met on the baseball field at age 6, where they were coached by Josh's father, Jim, for over 10 years.&nbsp;They continued their friendship at UVA as fraternity brothers. Other than Courtney, you could say Josh has been the rock in Roger's life.

From competitors in the swimming pool&nbsp;to&nbsp;immediate best friends one summer, Krista met Courtney while lifeguarding in Reston, VA. What may have been Reston Association's biggest mistake letting them run the busiest pool in Reston&nbsp;turned into a lifelong friendship. One day they hope to live in the same city again, but until then weekend adventures will have to do!

From a random "Scottish girl" first year at UVA&nbsp;to weekend partners in crime by fourth year, Caitlin and Courtney's friendship grew throughout their time at UVA. An ideal weekend&nbsp;for the two of them these days is full of concerts and breweries. If Courtney's spirit animal is a seal, then Caitlin's is a river otter. Courtney is thrilled Caitlin will be crossing the pond to walk with her down the aisle.&nbsp;

For every terrible&nbsp;emo&nbsp;rock song Gus loves,&nbsp;Roger has a&nbsp;horrendous&nbsp;rap track.&nbsp;But like they say,&nbsp;opposites attract.&nbsp;After years of living together, something has kept them great friends. Maybe it's the love of brewing, or maybe it's pork and burnt ends.&nbsp;

When Chris and Roger are in the same room, there&nbsp;is no&nbsp;match for their fire power. This is startling&nbsp;as they were roommates in DC&nbsp;for three years.&nbsp;Their "extreme wit" and "hardcore athleticism" impress the dullest of crowds. Their insatiable appetites make hungry hippos look like dieters. Combining this with their online presence have most people wondering if there are two most&nbsp;interesting men in the world. But in reality there is one...and it is&nbsp;Mickin.&nbsp;

Priya and Courtney met during their first year of business school at the University of Texas. The ultimate adventure gal, Courtney loved that Priya was always down for any and all Austin activities (... and there are endless activities in Austin). Priya, the Energizer Bunny, will keep the bridal party&nbsp;going all day and night long, and Courtney can't wait!

Temple and Roger met on the dance floor at Sigma Nu, as they were fraternity brothers. Temple was doing some weird interpretation of a line dance combined with dabbing...Roger was moving his feet in some awkward&nbsp;resemblance of&nbsp;chicken scratching. But this is all besides the point. Temple and Roger share a friendship over music, video games, and late night introspective conversations. Temple is full of surprises, and that's why he is one of Roger's groomsmen.&nbsp;

Ann is Roger's younger sister who shares very similar characteristics to her brother. She is very independent with a strong desire to perfect her craft. In her free time she is renovating her mother's beach house, while working full time at an environmental agency. In the little free time she has she loves spending it with her loving and high maintenance dog, Sadie. Courtney is excited for Ann to come celebrate!

The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is located ~20 minutes from downtown Austin, where both the ceremony and the hotel are located.&nbsp;

Ridesharing apps are the best way to get both&nbsp;to and from the airport and&nbsp;around Austin for the weekend.&nbsp;Both Uber and Lyft are active in Austin.

Austin-Bergstrom International Airport

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Element Austin Downtown. The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from the venue.&nbsp;The hotel opened in 2017, and centrally located between Austin's most popular areas. The hotel also features an outdoor bar, coffee shop, and complimentary breakfast. You should be able to walk to most attractions (and best food!)&nbsp;&nbsp;in Austin from this downtown location!The block is officially reserved for Friday and Saturday nights, but the hotel will honor the block rate for Thursday and Sunday nights as well. If you are trying to book Thursday or Sunday night&nbsp;and the site says there are no rooms available, please click the "Notify Hotel" button and leave your email. A representative from the hotel will reach out to assist you with your reservation.&nbsp;There is never a quiet weekend in Austin ... for this reason would encourage you to book your room sooner rather than later! The Austin Film Festival also happens to be occurring in Austin this weekend.&nbsp;
