From conversations in the control room and newsroom to cross-country moves — Michael and Courtney’s journey has involved a lot of change, but their love has stayed consistent. The two met at a television station in Rockford, IL while Michael was a director and Courtney was a reporter. Their first date was at an escape room (they did not escape) followed by an Italian dinner. This foreshadowed the rest of their relationship, which is both filled with pizza and inescapable (in the best way!). Lots of moves and two cats later — the two find themselves in Greenville, NC where Michael works in banking, and Courtney is an evening anchor. Courtney fell in love with the Blue Ridge Mountains during a visit to Asheville in the fall and introduced Michael to the beauty of that area a while later. The two got engaged along the Blue Ridge while watching the sunrise in Wintergreen, VA. They look forward to celebrating their love along the Appalachian Mountains once again, joined by all of their favorite people.
