Sam and Courtney matched on Bumble, a dating app, in August of 2022. Courtney had just graduted with her Master's Degree in Social Work and Sam had just moved to New Ulm to begin a new career as an engineer with 3M.

In April of 2023, Courtney and Sam took a huge (and somewhat risky) leap, and purchased a house together in New Ulm. It turned out to be one of the best decisions of our lives, and got our foot in the door of the housing market.

Sam proposed to Courtney in October of 2024 while they were both home sick during peak cold season. Sam had had the ring for 3 months, and although he had been waiting for the "perfect moment", it turns out that vulnerability and caring for one another is the pinnacle of romance.
