Transportation in Town

Most guests will find having a car helpful for getting around Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. Our permit only allows 10 vehicles onsite, so please plan to carpool with 3–4 guests per vehicle. Parking at the Lily Lake Southside Picnic Area is limited, and traffic can be heavier during peak season, so we recommend arriving early to secure a spot and allow extra travel time to the ceremony.

Weather, Altitude & Packing Tips

Estes Park sits around 7,500 ft in altitude! Evening temperatures in Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park can drop quickly, even in the summer, so we recommend bringing layers, including a warm jacket or sweater. Comfortable, sturdy shoes are important for walking around the picnic area and nearby trails, and sunscreen and sunglasses are helpful for daytime sun exposure. The weather can be unpredictable, so packing a light rain jacket or umbrella is a good idea. Don’t forget water to stay hydrated at high elevation, and plan for changing conditions to stay comfortable throughout the day.
