In light of the recent devastation from the fires affecting Maui, we have diligently and delicately been communicating with our connections on the island to stay up to date with the safest and most respectful ways to make traveling and this wedding possible. The overwhelming response from the locals that we have connected with is that Maui is very much still open and tourism is the best way for them to sustain and rebuild. The area that was unfortunately the most affected by the fires was the historical and beautiful town of Lahaina. Lahaina is on the western coast of Maui. Per the locals that we have been communicating with, this area will remain closed until further notice to give them space to heal and rebuild; however, the rest of Maui is open including the beautiful south coast of Maui which has been completely unaffected by the fires. Our venue remains in West Maui just south of Lahaina, but will be accessible and far enough away from any of the affected areas. We want our guests to feel comfortable coming to Maui and we want to assure you that we would not still be moving forward with this if we were not advised by out connections on the island that it is still safe, respectful, and actually helpful for us to come. There will be a welcome party on Saturday 5/18, a rehearsal dinner for all guests Sunday 5/19, and the wedding will take place Monday 5/20 (times TBD).

While we have also not booked our accommodations quite yet, we roughly plan to stay Wednesday, 5/15 to Saturday, 5/25.

Right now, we are being told that they have a surplus of donations and supplies, but will likely need assistance in the coming months and that gift cards like Visa Gift Cards, Target Gift Cards, etc. are helpful. Please reach out to Courtney or Jay directly for our wedding planner's information to send these to for distribution to the victims. Additionally, we will continue to see what the affected areas needs are closer to the wedding and will be committing some time while we are there in May to assist how we can and we welcome any guests to join us in doing this.
