Because Bailey is a better writer, I asked him to write something for "our story" this is what he sent me:

I met Courtney Farrow on the steps of Scoop’s Ice Cream in Covington, Georgia on April 12th , 2023. When I walked up for our first date, she was sitting on a yellow rocking chair looking out at the town square. Little did I know that I’d be sitting with her in those same chairs a little over a year later as my soon to be bride.

As I look back on our first date, a telling moment for me was when I offered to take a picture for some tourists on the square. She was laughing when I turned back around, “That’s just something I would’ve done!” It was her kind, thoughtful, and considerate way that drew me to her, and it draws me back every day. In her work, her relationships, and her life, she is always there to serve and love others. Each day she chooses kindness. She has been my anchor in the good times and bad, and I could not be more thankful that God has blessed me with such a wife.

A little over a year after we met at those rocking chairs, April 20th , 2024, I took her hand and walked her to the Founder’s Memorial Garden at the University of Georgia. As I prepared to ask her the most important question, I thought back to that day I first laid eyes on Courtney.

I didn’t know yet that I was about to meet the strongest, gentlest, and most empathetic person I’ve ever known. I didn’t know yet I’d found a partner who wanted to take this journey with me, to love and explore this life together. I couldn’t see yet the walks at the end of the day, the trips to the thrift store or the Target, the late nights watching tv with our cat, Blue, or sharing about our latest obsession together. I didn’t know that one day I would look over with admiration as she found her latest project to set her mind to. (Unlike me, she knows how to do just about anything)

I didn’t know any of these beautiful things that were in store for us. I do now, and I’m honored to trust her with my life. With all the gratitude in the world, I asked the scariest, easiest words I’ve ever asked someone, “Courtney Lanier Farrow, will you marry me?”

I hope you’ll join us as we celebrate the marriage of those same two kids that met at the ice cream shop,

on January 11th , 2025 at 4:00 p.m. at Live Wire Athens.

We are grateful for the impact you’ve had on our life. We are so excited to start this journey
