Courtney & Kevin first met in tenth grade at Southern Regional. They had English class together and sat next to each other. They both vividly remember the teacher they were supposed to have never returned after going out on maternity leave, but they can't remember who the teacher was. Ultimately, after a few weeks of witty banter between them, Kevin had a crush.

Fast forward a few months - Junior Prom was approaching and neither Kevin or Courtney had a date yet. The night before ticket sales ended, Kevin sent Courtney a text after their friend (enter: Brittany) dropped a hint to Kevin that she wanted to go with him. See photo below for proof.

After graduation, Courtney went off to Rowan University and Kevin entered the United States Air Force. Over the next four years, throughout Kevin's deployments and Courtney's college journey, they stayed connected (enter: Snapchat) and chatted every once in a while.

Kevin returned to Manahawkin in May 2018 and finished his college degrees (smarty pants). Courtney went on to pursue her MBA at Rowan for another two years. At this time, Kevin and Courtney hadn't chatted in a while.

One night in March 2022, Courtney was at Old Causeway with a friend from high school. Earlier that day, she had posted a Snapchat story (cringe) and recalled that Kevin viewed it. She told her friend and with the help of some liquid courage (enter: High Noon), decided to send Kevin a Snapchat...after roughly four years of no communication between them.

Her opening line?

"Are you still in Guam?"

Luckily, Kevin was not in Guam, and hadn't been there in SIX YEARS. Courtney invited Kevin to the bar and miraculously, Kevin has just gotten home from work and accepted her invitation. Around 10pm, Kevin entered Old Causeway (wearing jeans...if you know, you know). The three of them stayed at the bar til closing time.

Kevin & Courtney have been together ever since. Their first date was March 18, with their official dating anniversary falling on March 22, 2022.

Kevin proposed to Courtney on May 13, 2023 in Rome, Italy in front of the Trevi Fountain. It was picture perfect and a memory they will cherish forever. They are so excited to enter this next chapter and start their lives together as a married couple.
