Our Wedding

Our love story began in the digital age, on a little app called Bumble, back in 2019. Neither of us really were expecting much - just seeing what was out there. Who knew that a few swipes would lead to a lifetime of love and laughter. From the start, our connection was undeniable. We bonded over our shared values, love of family, Italian heritage and mutual love for all things food. It wasn't long before we discovered we had another passion in common - hockey. But there was a catch - one of us was a devoted Islanders fan and the other bled blue for the Rangers. On our first date, we knew this was a relationship that was not going to be short lived. We spent over 8 hours in NYC (meeting between Long Island and New Jersey) eating, drinking, laughing and getting to know each other. Courtney knew Dean was the one when they went to a pizzeria for lunch, ordering Calamari Fritti as an appetizer, and he told her she could dip right in the sauce on the plate instead of trying to be proper and pour the sauce on her own. Dean knew Courtney was the one when she dropped arugula in her hair while eating pizza not realizing for minutes until he said something. A bond that deepened our relationship was our mutual love and adoration for Stellina; some would say (Dean included) that Stellina is now a very big Daddy's girl and prefers him over Mommy (wrong!). Because of this bond, we decided to grow our fur-family by adopting Apollo in 2020. We are proud dog parents and our little furry ones quickly became a central part of our lives. As we look back on our journey, from a fateful Bumble match in 2019 to building a life filled with love, laughter and shared dreams, we can't help but feel grateful for everything that brought us together. From New Jersey to Long lsland and back again, our bond has only grown stronger, fueled by our love for family, heritage, Stellina &amp; Apollo and, of course, each other. Now, as we prepare to embark on the next chapter as husband and wife, we are filled with excitement for the future that awaits us. Together, we look forward to a lifetime of cherished memories, shared traditions, and unwavering love, knowing that the best is yet come.

Located only 9 minutes from the venue, this hotel will have a room block for our wedding as well as shuttle service to and from the venue. The strategic location of Washington Rock made it a valuable lookout point during the American Revolution for General George Washington in June of 1777, when the British army under General William Howe was moving toward Westfield. From the vantage point of this natural rock outcropping, General Washington had a thirty-mile panoramic view of the valley and was able to instruct his troops to circle behind Howe’s troops and cut off their retreat. One of the oldest state parks in New Jersey, Washington Rock was originally purchased in 1913 to commemorate the historical events of 1777. Situated on top of Watchung Mountain in Green Brook Township, the park is best known for its scenic vista and historical significance. The park is a popular site for picnicking and relaxing.

The&nbsp;Watchung Reservation History Trail is a 6-mile trail that visits and identifies sites of historic interest in Union County’s&nbsp;Watchung Reservation, a&nbsp;2,000+acre preserve located in the northern portion of the County. The Reservation is an integral part of the&nbsp;<a href="http://ucnj.org/parks" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Union County Parks system</a>, designed by the Olmsted Brothers of Brookline, Mass., the celebrated landscape architects who designed New York’s Central Park and scores of other notable public lands. The stops along the History Trail recall features from the early years of the&nbsp;Watchung Reservation, or describe uses of the land before it was incorporated into the park. The trail is marked with pink blazes, with signs on posts along the trail identifying the location of each site. The trail is designed to start and end at the&nbsp;<a href="https://ucnj.org/trailside" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Trailside Nature &amp; Science Center</a>, but can also be accessed from parking areas at the Deserted Village of&nbsp;Feltville and Lake Surprise.

Watchung Reservation

Texier House was built in about 1893 by glove maker Hippolyte Texier. He owned the mill nearby. In 1963 it was the home of the Watchung Police Department, and then in 1991, borough administration offices.&nbsp;Finally in 2010, the Watchung Historical committee began converting it into a museum to showcase Watchung's past for present and future generations.&nbsp;Oct 5 , 2013 was the museum grand opening
