Jake and Courtney's story start on the beaches of Guam. Courtney took a travel nursing opportunity across the Pacific Ocean and called the island "home" for almost 5 years. Jake had just completed a yearlong military tour in Turkey and his next duty station was Guam. Jake arrived to Guam January 6th, 2024 and it didn't take long for Courtney to notice him. After an evening of beach volleyball and cocktails, their paths crossed on January 19th, 2024.

After this day, Jake and Courtney were inseparable. They planned a date for the very next day. Hours turned in to days and days turned in to weeks. Courtney was planning on leaving the island for good in September of 2024, but decided life had more plans for them and decided to stay.

In 2024 and 2025 life threw lots of highs and lows at them, but their love and support triumphed through it all. Needless to say, they wouldn't be the people they are today without one another. Jacob and Courtney focused on the positives and spent more time with family and loved ones. They traveled a lot and embraced the joys of having one another. Jacob finally planned the most memorable proposal in one of the Wonders of the World in Cambodia on May 29th, 2025.

After multiple discussions, they decided on Hawaii as the wedding location. Hawaii was where Jake was born and he is also half Hawaiian. Jake and Courtney will also be leaving paradise in January of 2026 to Oklahoma as Jake's next duty location. They figured Hawaii would be a nice break from this new journey. Courtney and Jake have grown as individuals and as a couple and they couldn't be happier to become husband and wife. The wedding will be a dream come true and they are so excited to share the special day with all of you. They can't wait to see you in Hawaii in 2026!
