Kevin and Courtney both grew up in St. Charles, Illinois and attended different high schools in town, where Kevin was a grade above her. They coincidentally had mutual friends throughout the years but never actually crossed paths until the timing was just right. (Little did they know, their parents met before they did). They believe everything happens for a reason and although they knew similar people growing up, they were not meant to arrive into each others lives until later on when they were meant to fall in love.

Kevin joined the military after graduating high school and was stationed in Southern California, where he served 4 years and two deployments to Iraq and Syria. Courtney went on to continue her education at a local college while working full-time as well. In December 2017, while Kevin was still in the military, he came home for the holidays and the two were introduced through mutual friends Courtney had met through work. They hit it off instantly and knew they had to stay in touch.

While Kevin finished his enlistment, they committed to a long-distance relationship and never missed a single day of checking in on one another. Courtney flew to California several times, and Kevin visited home as much as he could. Once Kevin moved back home, they were finally in each others arms and fell more in love each and every day since. In February 2021, Kevin popped the big question and Courtney said yes without a doubt. Now, they are ready to begin the rest of their lives together and continue to add to this story from now until forever.
