This story is one for the books. It didn't start all that long ago. Some say it was perfect timing, others say it was a match made in heaven. We think ALL OF THE ABOVE. Travis and Courtney were not met by fate, but were introduced by each others very best friends.

It all began when Courtney went on a trip with her best friend Lauren and a group of all couples to St. John. During this trip, she met Cory and his wife Jaynie. Cory and Lauren have been long friends who met in Law School. Fun Fact: Courtney actually met this couple at Lauren's wedding when Cory officiated her and Jeff's big day. How does Travis fit into this picture? He's Cory's very best friend.

Three days into their St. John trip, Cory and Jaynie were making plans that would change two peoples lives forever. While sitting at a beach bar in the BVIs, Cory and Jaynie brought up their idea to Courtney that she should meet there super cool, super smart, tall, and handsome best friend, Travis, who happens to ALSO live in Austin where Courtney lives. Pictures were shown to Courtney of Travis, and pictures were then sent to Travis of Courtney in between his besties, sipping on coconut limes, and both Court and Trav were excited and intrigued by the thought of meeting one day. Lauren, Courtney's best friend had met Travis on many occasions by then so she, too, approved and couldn't wait for the connection to happen.

One small issue-- Cory and Jaynie live in Abilene, so making that introduction, especially in person, may not happen for awhile. Little did Courtney and Travis know, it would happen within just one week when she returned from the BVIs.

Cory, now in his law boss era, frequents Austin along with his lawyer wife, Jaynie for several work trips, conferences, etc. It just so happened that Cory would be in Austin the very week after St. John. So Cory made a few calls to Travis and sent a few texts to Courtney and the date was set: 8/10/2023. Travis and Cory would meet Courtney at their favorite local bar- The Golden Goose.

Courtney, being nervous and excited all together, wanted to bring a friend along to feel more comfortable. Her best friend Callie was up to tag along for the first meeting. Courtney and Travis met over pickle drips and had wonderful banter and chemistry from the start, but Courtney didn't leave the night feeling great. You see, it had been some time since Travis had been on dates and he thought Courtney should get his info from Cory and by doing so, they'd link up again sometime soon. Courtney in her most confident way told Travis he should get her number if he wants to communicate or see her again- so he did.

They texted that night, and the next day and the next day and had their second actual date 2 days later. Travis even took home a coaster from The Goose as a souvenir that is now framed in their home today.

Long story short, Travis and Courtney met one night and have been together and on many adventures from Paris to Switzerland, from Lubbock to Wichita Falls, and more. It took taking a chance and trusting friends one night to live happily ever after.
