The Hideout is a unique venue that can also sleep up to 30 adults for camping. You are welcome to tent camp or bring/rent an RV and set up your site at the designated camping area at our venue. This is a first come first serve option, so if you are interested in staying onsite please let us know asap.

Kirkwood Mountain Resort 

1501 Kirkwood Meadows Drive, Kirkwood, CA 95646&nbsp; contact: 775.309.9058 This Resort is a 35 minute drive to our venue. If you don't feel like camping or glamping this is a great option! We will have a shuttle to and from our venue. Please check back later for an updated shuttle schedule.

Kit Carson Lodge

32161 Kit Carson Road, Kit Carson, CA 95644&nbsp;contact: 209.258.8500 This is another great option! This one is about 31 minutes from the venue and has 2-8 person cabins.

Accommodations 

The HideOut’s address is&nbsp;43300 Highway 88, Pioneer, CA.&nbsp;Please note there isn’t cell service on Hwy 88 near The HideOut. Either print directions or have them on your phone when heading there. There are two big wooden bears and orange cones marking the driveway entrance. Once you turn into the driveway, you'll go about two miles on a dirt road. When you get to the lake, turn right and drive over Pucker Butt Hill. Follow the signs to the parking lot. All these routes will involve mountain driving, so we highly recommend arriving during the daylight. It will be easier to find your destination and work out arrival details during the day because at night it is very dark and there is spotty cell service.

From South Lake Tahoe 

Hwy 89 to Hwy 88 WEST. Travel approximately 40 miles, you will pass Kirkwood Ski Resort, Silver Lake/Plasses Resort. When you see the Mormon Emigrant Trail sign, continue on Hwy 88 for 1 ½ miles. The entrance to The HideOut will be on your LEFT.

From Reno/Garnerville, Nevada (via Hwy 395)

From Hwy 395 take the Hwy 88 turn. Follow Hwy 88 for about 45-60 miles (this is an estimate). You will pass Sorenson’s Resort, Kirkwood Ski Resort, Silver Lake/Plasses Resort. When you see the Mormon Emigrant Trail sign, continue on Hwy 88 for 1 ½ miles. The entrance to The HideOut will be on your LEFT.

From San Francisco

Hwy 80 to Hwy 50 East towards Placerville. Continue on Hwy 50 to the Sly Park exit. At the stop sign turn right and go to the Sly Park Reservoir, approx. 4.5 miles. When you see Jenkinson Lake, take a left on the Mormon Emigrant Trail to Hwy 88 (approx. 28 miles to Hwy 88). At Hwy 88 turn Right (towards Jackson) and go 1 ½ miles. The driveway entrance to the HideOut will be on your LEFT.

WHEN SHOULD I RSVP BY?

All RSVP's should be done by June 12, 2024.

IS THERE TRANSPORTATION TO THE HIDEOUT VENUE? 

We will have a shuttle to/from Kirkwood and the wedding venue. Check our website for updates and we will post the shuttle schedule. At the end of the night the shuttle will drop back off at Kirkwood Resort. If you’re using the shuttle, make sure to write down your address to provide to the driver so they can get you home! Uber/Lyft is not available so please plan accordingly.

WHAT IS THE CLOSEST AIRPORT TO FLY IN?

Reno and Sacramento airports are equally close at around 1 hour 45 minutes and 2 hours and 15 minutes respectively. San Francisco and Oakland are the next options at around 3 ½ hours away.

IS EVERYONE INVITED TO ALL EVENTS?

Yes! All are invited to the wedding and lake day/brunch. Please kindly RSVP by June 12, 2024 for each event.

WHAT WILL THE WEATHER BE LIKE?

The average summer weather during the day is 75-85 degrees. We will be in the mountains where at night it cools down so be sure to bring a cozy jacket.

ARE KIDS WELCOME?

While we love your children, our wedding is an adult only event.

CAN I BRING A DATE? 

This is a small intimate celebration so only those addressed are accounted for. Thank you for understanding.
