We are so grateful to all of you who will join us on our special day. We are blessed to have such wonderful family and friends in our lives. Although this celebration would not be possible without the couple, we would be remiss to not thank the support that comes from behind the curtain, our parents. Roger, Elena, Anthony, and Becky, thank you for passing down the love you foster in your own relationships to us and for supporting us every step of the way. Without you, this wedding celebration would not be possible. We are looking forward to the day and all the memories that will follow!

Our Wedding

Courtney and Anthony’s love story begins, as every good college love story begins, at a bar. They became fast friends throughout their sophomore year at Marist College and eventually became a couple in the Spring of 2017. What sealed the deal was when Anthony fell ill to the stomach bug that ran rampant through the hockey team. Courtney was by his side to care for him, while clearly at his worst. From that point on Courtney and Anthony now care for one another. They went on to date for almost 6 years before Anthony proposed in June of 2022.&nbsp;

Our Story

Anthony picked up the ring in early June, but was still struggling to pick the right place to ask Courtney. Sun &amp; Surf Beach Club in Atlantic Beach was a place Courtney had taken Anthony the first time he had visited her on LI and their enjoyment of the beach seemed like a great place. The weather that Friday afternoon was perfect, Anthony had made a sangria to sip on, and they picked up appetizers from a local eatery in Long Beach. Unlike the middle of July, the beach that afternoon was deserted, and Anthony couldn’t have been more happy. The two laid a blanket on the sand, drank a little sangria, and enjoyed the beautiful beach evening. A short walk followed, and Courtney seemed nervous (even though Anthony had been very careful making these plans). She quickly forgot it all because she stepped in bird poop that she hadn’t seen. She laughed it off, as Anthony couldn’t help but play into it saying, “You know what they say, getting pooped on by a bird is good luck. That could mean something”. The sun was going down, and returning to the blanket Anthony hugged Courtney, told her how he has felt about her since they started dating six years prior, and asked her to marry him. A shocked Courtney said yes, and the two watched the sunset before calling their families with the good news.&nbsp;

Anthony’s Version

Courtney was a fifth grade teacher with a very boisterous class. Fifth grade is a fun age because they still have a very innocent mindset but communicate like adults. This class in particular was infatuated with Ms. OD’s personal life and everything that related to her “super cool” boyfriend, Anthony. They were obsessed with the idea of Ms. OD getting engaged, it was a common topic brought up at least once a day (and not by their teacher). However, it was not until their argumentative writing unit that the light hearted topic of a proposal became a mission. “I do not want to write about ‘If chocolate milk should be allowed in schools anymore!’” yelled a boy from across the room. A stunned Ms. OD, who knew she had 2 more weeks left of this unit said, “Hmmm…well what do you want to write about?”. “I want to write a letter to Anthony convincing him why he should propose before the end of June!” Before Ms. OD could utter any words, an uproar of 21 fifth graders all started shouting in agreement. Not so long after their chocolate milk essays were away and looseleaf was out and ready on their desks. Trying to regain some sort of control Ms. OD stated that if they wanted to do this then they would have to do it right. “Your letter must include a thesis statement and should be supported by at least three reasons.”. Ms. OD went home that day with 21 handwritten letters in hand, all with various reasons; she will be so happy we won’t have homework, she will be in a good mood so we will get extra recess, she said we can have a pizza party, we want to be a part of this moment, or her nails look really good right now. However, every letter shared the same goal, “propose to Ms. OD”. This fifth grade class got their wish, Ms. OD was in a good mood and did not give homework and gave extra recess. Her nails did look great and the class celebrated with a pizza party. AND she will always remember this class and this memory whenever she looks at her ring or teaches the chocolate milk argument writing unit.

The Proposal

This venue will host a Welcome Party with cocktails and light bites in the late afternoon on July 26th. Additionally, a breakfast will follow at the hotel on the morning of July 28th. *This location is directly across the street from the Garden City LIRR station. It is on the Hempstead train line. Very convenient for those traveling from the airport or city.

This hotel has two hotel blocks. One is for a one night and the other is two nights. The rate varies based on the number of nights. Please use the following link to book a room with the block rate.
