Dan and Courtney are getting married! Welcome to our wedding website! We can’t wait to celebrate our special day with you. We’ve created this website as a convenient and interactive way to share all of the important details with you in the lead up to our wedding. You can also read more about our love story, get to know our awesome bridal party, and check out our registry information too. Our Wedding

University of Pittsburgh

Our love story began in Pittsburgh, PA as Spanish course classmates, after 3 years of classes together. Our first unofficial date was lunch at a local Chinese restaurant, followed by an icy stroll through Schenley park. Dan "slipped" on a patch of ice, and held Courtney's hand for most of the walk. We quickly planned our second date at the Hard Rock Cafe in Station Square. After dinner, we didn't want the date to end, so we walked the 3 miles home to our Oakland apartments.

Long Distance Love Story

We began our long distance relationship in the summer of 2017, when Dan moved to Philadelphia, PA for medical school and Courtney moved to Atlanta, GA for a master's degree in public health. That summer, Adaline joined our family as our fur-child, and she moved with Courtney down to Atlanta. During the two years of Courtney's program, we traveled back and forth from Pennsylvania to Georgia, getting to know interstates 95 and 85 very well. At the end of Courtney's program at Emory, she decided to continue school with a PhD in Epidemiology at the University of North Carolina. While Courtney moved a little further north, we had to continue the long distance for a few more years. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, online classes allowed for us to spend more time together.

The Engagement

In August of 2020, after a few months of being together in quarantine, we traveled to Pennsylvania together to visit Courtney's parents. We went to breakfast on the morning of August 16, and on the drive home, Dan played Bruno Mars love songs. As we pulled back the driveway, he played Marry You, and popped the question in the front lawn of Courtney's childhood home. After she said yes, both of our families and closest friends came out of the house to surround us with excitement and love. Since the engagement, Dan has started his emergency medicine residency at Duke University Hospital, and we now have our first home together in Durham, NC! We are so excited for this new chapter to begin!

Things to Do in Central, PA

The Pennsylvania State Capitol is located in Harrisburg, PA. Guests can schedule guided tours through the capitol through their website!

HersheyPark is an amusement park located down the road in Hershey, PA. If you aren't feeling up to roller coasters and water slides, be sure to check out Hershey Chocolate World next door. Admission is free for the ride, and you can stock up on your favorite chocolates to take home!

If you are wanting to get in some exercise during the wedding weekend, we recommend driving to Duncannon to hike Hawk Rock, part of the Appalachian Trail. If you hike to the top of the mountain, you can over look the Susquehanna and Juniata rivers for a beautiful, picture perfect view!

If you are traveling and staying in the area, we highly recommend taking a trip to Bucks Valley Winery down the road in Newport, PA. They have a huge wine selection, and the best pizza in town!

Located directly beside The Manor, is Juniata Valley Winery. If you are staying near our venue, we highly recommend stopping by the winery for a drink (or some bottles to take home)!

Located down the road from The Manor, is Harshbarger's restaurant. It's a 50s style diner, and we cannot recommend their burgers enough! And if you have enough room for dessert, you have to try some ice cream!

Kiersten is Courtney's sister, and they've been friends since birth! Conversation starters: Harry Styles and dogs (specifically, her puppy, Hazel!)

Juliana and Courtney met in high school, and have been best friends ever since!

Conversation starters: Disc golf and rock climbing (Juliana is Courtney's most athletic friend, so chances are she knows a lot about your favorite sports!)

Kayleigh and Courtney met at Emory and became fast friends. We bonded over our small town roots and our love of good food and ice cream!

Mary and Courtney met in North Carolina at UNC. They found out they were neighbors on their first day of orientation, and quickly grew into friends during the COVID-19 quarantine when they took daily walks with their dogs! Conversation starters: Hiking, Philadelphia (she and her husband, Ricky, lived in Philadelphia, so they can talk to you about their favorite restaurants and activities!), and breweries

Rina and Courtney met at UNC and became fast friends. Rina kept Courtney company during the long distance part of her and Dan's relationship, and they would go grocery shopping and errand shopping every weekend together, and during COVID-19 quarantine, they would cook meals together every week! Conversation starters: Midwest (Rina is from Minnesota, and loves to tell us all about the state fair), pets (she has two cats, Poppy and Sprout), and cooking

Anthony is Dan's brother.

Conversation starters: Technology and gaming, sports (his favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers!), and his guilty pleasure is reality dating tv shows (Courtney and Anthony binged 2 seasons of Are you the one? when he visited us in NC)

Aaron and Dan met while playing video games late at night and realized they had many similarities and were destined to be great friends!

Conversation starters: Video games, flight school (Aaron is training to become a Naval pilot), and Clemson (Aaron went to college in South Carolina and now lives in Florida)

Weber and Dan met in high school, and have been best friends since. 

Conversation starter: Sports (Weber may be the only person that knows as much about sports as Dan!), cooking (he is known for experimenting in the kitchen with fancy cooking appliances), and Survivor (Weber once planned a Survivor competition on a beach vacation!)

Conversation starters: Pokemon, electrical engineering (Alvaro just started a post-doc position in Missouri), and Pittsburgh (he's spent the majority of his life in Pittsburgh and just left to move to the mid-west)

Cole and Dan met while attending medical school at UPenn, and were roommates for 3 years! 

Conversation starters: Running (Cole ran cross country at Dickinson college), sports (Cole and Dan spent 4 years watching as many Steelers games as they could), and medicine (Cole is graduating to become an anesthesiologist next year)

Michael and Dan met in medical school at UPenn, bonded over their love of soccer, and were roommates their last year. 

Conversation starters: Soccer (Michael's favorite player is Lionel Messi - be sure to ask him about the 2019 Champions league semifinal), the Amazing Race (Dan, Courtney, and Michael would watch episodes together over FaceTime), and Duke (Michael went to Duke for undergrad and will always cheer for their sports teams!)
