We dedicate our love story to one of our dear friends, Jon Longtin, and it goes like this...to know him was to love him! Jon Longtin had many friends, so many in fact that many of us did not know each other. We did not cross paths during all the activities when Longtin was alive, not at the funeral service, or even on social media when everyone shared their personal stories. We like to refer to this as "God's Perfect Timing!" During the pandemic, most of the world came to a halt. When Ray returned to his work desk, he found many Longtime shirts. He posted on social media asking local friends who wanted one. Courtney saw the re-post from someone else and asked if she could get one. The next thing she knew, she had a Facebook message explaining how Ray would be in town and asked if he could drop the shirt on her doorstep. Courtney asks if he could bring it by around 5:00 pm, and she will buy him a beer for his efforts. She finds out he's staying at Battery Park (Braves Stadium), so she tells him to stay there, and she will meet him to get the shirt and buy him a beer. They began at Terrapin, moved to dinner at the Yard House, and ended at PBR at 2:00 am. The following day Ray reached out again; she turned down brunch but offered a hike at Stone Mountain, a foot massage, and authentic green tea ice cream instead. That was the start of the Coco adventures! Unbeknownst to Courtney, Ray had a flight planned that Saturday to Los Angeles. He missed that flight to begin a life of adventures together! For this reason, a trip to Los Angeles for their honeymoon may be the best choice once they get around to planning time away from their new family!
