Update 2/22/21: 1. Covid is still a thing but thankfully positive cases are declining! Wahoo! Let's keep it that way! Also, I am thankful for everyone who was able to make it through snovid! You are all troopers!! Please let me know if anyone still needs help! 2. I added a 4th case of preparation requests below for those who recently got covid. 3. Please check out the "Things to Do" page for where to get tested if this is your preference. I've tested out all the methods mentioned with my own nose (or mouth) so please let me know if you have any questions!

Original Message

As rumors of COVID-19 began to emerge over a year ago, the last thing we believed was that we would STILL be dealing with it by March of 2021 (oh how naïve we were!). Since then, we have seen weddings get moved, downsized, or even just cancelled. As the time came to send out invitations, even with hope of a vaccine on the horizon, we considered all of these options. However, moving the wedding led to the question of when and complications with planning, downsizing seemed impossible to do with family from all over the country, and cancelling seemed like giving up. None of these seemed like the right choice for us. Instead, we have decided to continue to move forward with our plans, with the complete understanding that this may require some of our close friends and family to opt out of celebrating with us on this special day. While this pains us greatly, we know that, just like we have continually learned throughout this tough year, we can support and love each other from wherever we are. We graciously ask that those that feel comfortable with the protocol below please follow our requests and join in our celebration. For those that feel at risk or otherwise uncomfortable, we request that you celebrate with us from the safety of your home and know that we feel all of the love and support as we begin our life in marriage.

Before you Arrive

We are expecting approximately 100 guests at our wedding. We understand this is likely the largest gathering most of our guests will attend in over a year. With this in mind, we request that each guest be mindful of their surroundings prior to attending the wedding and follow one or all of the following options: 1. Quarantine2. Get tested3. Get vaccinated (thank you to all of our first responders and essential workers for all of your efforts over the past year!!)4. I was hoping not to add this but unfortunately this has been a common theme: If you have had covid within the last 3 months and are no longer showing symptoms, you do not need to get tested or isolate (but glad you made it through!) We understand some of these options may be difficult to follow or you may struggle with the validity of them. We understand and want to respect everyone's opinion. However, we hope you can put aside any political/personal opinions to help us have a successful and safe celebration of our marriage.

At the Venue

During the Ceremony

The ceremony will be indoors. Upon arrival, you will have the option to wear your own mask or our specially designed wedding mask :) We will have chairs that will be in rows with extra space between rows as well as an ample amount of chairs so groups may socially distance from each other. We ask that guests wear their masks during the entire ceremony. The wedding party will not be wearing masks during the ceremony.

Cocktail Hour

Cocktail hour will be on the patio (weather permitting) or in the corridor. Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served by servers walking around. There should be ample space during this time where guests may move around as desired to maintain comfort level.

At the Reception

The reception will be indoors. The tables will be round tables with a maximum of 10 people per table. The tables will be spaced as much as possible. However, we can not guarantee ample space between tables as we chose not to move tables to different rooms. Dinner will be plated and brought to guests after everyone is seated. All servers and vendors will be wearing masks the entire time. There will be a dance floor! The first dance and parent dances will not include masks. However, we ask that guests wear masks on the dance floor while they cut a rug. Please do not feel obligated to dance if you are not comfortable. If you choose to dance with us from your chair, we only expect to see some great moves!

Final Thoughts

We understand this event is a risk. We are willing to take that risk because we know we have an incredible support system of friends/family who will do what it takes to make this day special. We eagerly look forward to this event as not only a way to celebrate us, but also a way to celebrate having a time to see many friends/family that we have not been able to see due to the pandemic. We want to thank each and every one of you for being an important part of our lives and being a part of this special day!

COVID Updates

The Setup: C+

The setting was less than ideal. It was a work trip down to Austin. Courtney was looking to be a strong and independent woman focused on getting into MBA school in another city, while Ryan was focused on advancing his own career. Fortunately, the trip was a social one and the two were "fatefully" forced next to each other for 3 hours on the drive down (there is currently no official proof that Ryan, who was in charge of the trip, designed this outcome).

Austin Trip: A-

Despite the setup, the sparks flew as the conversation never stuttered during the three hour drive. The driver and copilot curiously listened in as they felt love sparks come from the back seat.While in Austin and maintaining a professional relationship of shotgunning beers while floating along the river, the two only grew in their respectful admiration for each other (ok ok.. they looked good in their bathing suits!).After a professional dinner and night caps at a bar, the evening ended with the most romantic move: In the living room of the AirBnB, Ryan asks Courtney if he could kiss her. She said yes! The kiss was perfect, especially because the gentleman snoring on the other side of the living room did not wake up.

The First Date: A

Ryan offers to take Courtney out the next week to indulge in some of their favorite activities: sushi, bowling, and pool. The sushi was mutually crushed, the pins were dominated (by Ryan), and the pool table was conquered (by Courtney). It was a lovely evening that cemented that the romance goes beyond the workplace.Now was the time to ensure that this would not mess with work life. Courtney drops the bomb that she is looking to leave within the next 6 months to a year and did not want to have an ex that she works with. Ryan responds in a logical way stating that he wouldn't be an ex if they never break up and 6 months is long enough to decide if the relationship is worth pursuing across the country.

Chicago: A+

Moving from a 700 sq ft apartment and 2,800 sq ft house into an 800 sq ft apartment in Chicago was a tall task but quite the journey. The two relived their first meeting by driving a u-haul across the country and learned what teamwork really means.With new opportunities ahead of them, Ryan in a new office and Courtney at a new school, they both met the challenges head on while supporting each other through the struggles (ok Ryan did a lot more supporting).The move defined their relationship of never fearing an adventure while also remembering who is supporting them.

The Proposal: A+

After exploring the city with the help of old and new friends, Ryan and Courtney had a favorite spot for each of their preferred delicacies. This evening was dedicated to the divine spirit of whiskey. Ryan took a bold approach to plan a date night and booked a reservation at the Cherry Circle Room in Chicago. The two were taken to a secluded area of the cozy restaurant.The waiter brought the drink cart over, where he normally asks if we would like a cocktail, but this time the cart had two flights of whiskey prepared. After realizing this was not a mistake, Courtney just stared at Ryan with her eyebrows raised, knowing something was happening.Ryan realized he was caught so romantically shimmied out of the booth and dropped to one knee. Words may or may not have been said, but a ring was exchanged and smiles were abound.The following day the newly engaged couple departed on a flight back to Dallas for the holidays and begin to plan a wedding in what would become the craziest of times..

Our Story

Flights/Parking

DFW Airport is ~25 minutes and Love Field is ~30 minutes from the venue. Uber/Lyft are available as well as taxis or rental cars. Parking is free at the venue. Please check with your hotel for parking restrictions.

Hotels

Please call Marriott reservations at 1-(800)-228-9290 or 972-473-6444 and identify as part of the Webb/Morse Wedding Room Block group staying at the Dallas/Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center. The cutoff date is Friday, February 12th 2021; however, we ask that guests book rooms as soon as possible so we can add more rooms as needed. The rooms are free to cancel at any time.

Activities

The Star - The cowboys practice facility is a great tour and also great food around it.Shops at legacy - Plenty of shops within walking distance. A great way to spend an afternoon.Stonebriar Mall - A typical Texas mall. Lots of shops. Lots of food. You will probably get lost.Top golf colony - A great place to hit some balls and hang outArbor Hills - If you are up for a stroll in nature, this is a great place. A beautiful overlook and plenty of paths to explore.National Soccer Hall of Fame - Inside of the FC Dallas stadium is now the soccer hall of fame for the US National Teams and MLS.

Food

BBQPecan Lodge - this is the farthest from the venue but arguably the best BBQ in the world (all other opinions on this other than Salt Lick in Austin are invalid). Expect to spend ~30-45min in line here unless you want to order a trough (feeds 4-5). Recommended to arrive early before everything sells out.Hutchins - Still better than anything you will have outside of the state of Texas. Also plan to spend some time in line here. Still worth it!Hard 8 - A small level below Hutchins but the line will be shorter. Still a good representation of Texas! Tex-MexGloria's - A nicer representation but still delicious. The black bean dip is addictive as well as the margaritas.Mexican Sugar - Incredible for brunch but also great quality food all day long!Mi Dia from Scratch - great quality food with a great atmosphereChuy's - This is a down and dirty tex-mex restaurant. Don't go here on a diet. The happy hour queso bar is a must-do if it is open. The margaritas can also be very dangerous here.MiCocina - This is walking distance to the hotel for a good reason. The mambo taxi's are the best. DO NOT HAVE MORE THAN 2. The food is also good but nothing to write home about since this is a larger chain. Other OptionsLegacy Food Hall - 3 levels of gourmet food trucks all under one roof. A great place to grab food and drinks if your group is torn on what they want.Granite Park Boardwalk - A variety of restaurants overlooking a pond. The biscuit bar is a great place to grab breakfast.The Star - The cowboys practice facility is a great place for a tour or to grab a bite to eat at any of the restaurants in the complex.

Covid Testing

Planning Ahead:CVS - appointment necessary. They do rapid testing or drive through PCR depending on the location. These time slots book up quick so I suggest scheduling these 3 days in advance. They still require to list at least one symptom in order to get a test. They take insurance. Curative - curative.com/covid-testing. Appointment necessary. Drive through or walk ups welcome. They only provide PCR testing. However, they don't go up your nose!! They do a mouth swab. I suggest booking this a little less than a week in advance. Didn't plan?iCare ER - no appointment necessary. They do rapid or PCR. The wait time can be around 30 minutes or longer here. They take insurance (note, they do not charge an ER visit for a covid test!). Most other ERs will do testing for free. You may just have to fight some shady ones on the ER visit charge or not. Helpful note: Rapid testing gets results in about 20 minutes, but it is not as accurate. PCR testing typically takes between 2-4 days but is more accurate.

Bridal Party

Courtney and Lexcen met playing soccer in 2012 and have been inseparable ever since. They realized that they were both soccer players, civil engineers, and left handed. The two can now be found giggling about things no one understands while enjoying the fine delicacy of whiskey.

Lexcen Grosshuesch

Johanna will be the in-person representative from the high school years. She and Courtney go wayyyy back to making crafts in Girl Scouts in elementary school. Johanna was always the better crafter, but Courtney could steal her craft and outrun her! Johanna and Courtney now bond over their love for the "good old days", while video chatting on their iPhones..

Johanna

Courtney and Morgan met at the mailboxes outside of their London flats. They then traveled Europe together and have not stopped since. While they can not travel the world during Covid, they still find each other scratching the travel itch by exploring the wonders of the beautiful US, sometimes together! Lately, they are both focused on planning both of their weddings in 2021. They have come a long way since that fateful day in London.

Morgan Lockowitz

Courtney and Angelina met through a mutual friend and decided to move in together for a year. That year became the most memorable year full of laughs, tears, and cuddles on the couch with Barley (the cutest Border Collie/lab mix you have ever met). 3480 forever!

Angelina Pane

Madeline and Courtney met at Kellogg in Chicago. Madeline travels in from Seattle each week and stays with Courtney and Ryan. The relationship born out of convenience transpired into a dynamic force to be reckoned with. Watch out business world!

Madeline Moyer

Courtney and Kenzie met playing soccer at SMU in Dallas. The unlikely friendship of a goalie and a forward happened based on a mutual love of sports and making the most of life. Kenzie is now taking the NFL by storm as a Physical Therapist for the Indiana Colts. When not quarantined, the two still enjoy pretending they are back in college and dominating soccer fields.

Robyn and Courtney have known each other since middle school at Greenhill. They were often up to crazy shenanigans such as creating forts, skiing, or eating cookie dough. The two now commiserate in their crazy decisions to go back to school.

Grooms Party

Growing up as brothers, Danny and Ryan played many sports and video games together, always trying to outdo each other.  Despite being 3 years younger, Danny held his ground well.  Competitiveness among each other has transformed into strong bond full of trust and respect.   They stand up for each other no matter what.

Ryan was introduced to Jacob almost immediately after the start of his relationship with Courtney.  After a quick stamp of approval, Jacob (and Lexcen) involved Ryan in their wedding.  Since then, they have been to concerts, taken many trips, and drank a lot of whiskey together.

Jimmy, being a great older brother to Courtney, made sure Ryan was worthy of Courtney.  The two are now friends and look forward to many more outings together as brothers-in-law.

Ryan met Jeff shortly after moving to Dallas at Jeff's annual onesie birthday bar crawl.  Their friendship formed quick leading to many sporting events together, trips to six flags, and three more rounds of the annual bar crawl as Yoshi (Ryan) and Donkey Kong (Jeff).

On a rare snow day in Dallas, Ryan walked into The Standard Pour in Dallas and noticed someone at the bar wearing an FSU beanie.  After discovering Matt also had roots in Jacksonville, they were destined to be friends.  They spent many gamedays together watching the Noles and Jags, often drinking their sorrows away.

Phil and Ryan met in Jacksonville through mutual friends (JP) and bonded through their love of basketball.  They spent many weekends together at the beach and many nights staying and playing social games with their friend circle.  Phil also hosted Ryan and Courtney at Oktoberfest in Germany, where Courtney had to hide the ring for Phil to propose to his now wide Maria.  I'll end the story there!

JP and Ryan met as fraternity bothers at FSU, but became even closer when Ryan moved to Jacksonville where JP was already living.  They completed a Tough Mudder together, dominated the Jax Beach kickball league, and spent numerous evenings at World of Beer.  Their friendship is here to stay.

Courtney met Jim and Karen when born. They have been the most supportive parents from having tough conversations during the worst times to whenever she has incredible accomplishments. Courtney has her parents to blame (thank) for her love of travel, whiskey, and God.

Jeff and Leslie have always put Ryan in the best position to succeed.  They are amazing life coaches and know how to support Ryan during tough times.  It is pretty obvious that Ryan gets his huge heart and willingness to sacrifice from them.
