In a world where a college student is in dire need of laundry change, there is only one place to get it.... Craig the bank guy!!!!

It was a windy day in Kingston on November 4th, 2016. Craig was working at TD Canada trust and a young college student came in looking for laundry change and to fix some issue. That student was Ashleigh Russell, a vision in a penguin sweater, sweats and hot pink crocs, because you know it was laundry day. While getting change is a simple transaction and should only take minutes, sparks instantly flew and the two talked and laughed for close to 30 minutes. Ashleigh had a moment of pure adrenaline and while Craig went to 'finally' get her laundry change, she reached across his desk, took a post-it note and started to write down her number. SURPRISE! Craig is a fast walker and was back before she could finish! Attempting to hide what she was doing, adrenaline fading quickly, she requested a loonie be turned to quarters. Finally done writing her number down, Craig returned and said "this change is for you". Her brain freezing and panicking, she responded, "and this is for you" throwing the crumpled post-it note at him, hitting Craig in the face. *Whack* She pulled a Cinderella and ran out of the bank so fast, she never knew it hit him in the face until their first date. She also realized she didn't remember his name, despite the name tag, because she was overwhelmed by his blue eyes.

"He had eyes like Prince Eric from the Little Mermaid, my favourite prince!" she told her friends, convinced at the point though that his name might be Eric. He went into her phone though as "The bank guy".

After 2 weeks of texting back and forth, finding out Craig's real name (thanks to her friends stealing her phone on a drunken night and texting him), they set their first date for November 18, and were off on what would become the adventure of their lives. They found out many new interesting facts about each other including their joint love of bagpipes (a very important point for Ashleigh), musicals old and new, and old-time singers like Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby. Their first date resulted in another the next day, the day after that, and the day after that, etc. and soon after they were basically living together (sorry Moms).

Now my friends this is not where the story ends however, for Ashleigh is the adventurous sort and was off to Ireland, 9 months after they started dating. Ashleigh spent 9 months in Ireland, going to school and exploring Europe for sometimes less then what a happy meal costs. This tested aspects of their relationship, though it showed them through uncertain times they truly loved and could count on each other. Craig was lucky enough to visit Ashleigh at the end of her time in Ireland and they explored England and Ireland together with her parents for 2 weeks.

Upon returning and not wanting to spend any more time apart then they already had, Craig moved to Newmarket and started their life closer together. They had to relearn to grow together after being apart for so long. But it was meant to be and they both knew every struggle was leading to something amazing! Craig knew they had a major adventure to take together.

On July 10 of 2019 ( same day as Ashleigh's grandparents anniversary) at 9:25pm, Craig proposed to the love of his life during the "Happily Ever After" fireworks show at Disney World. The fireworks were always her favourite part of working at Disney. Because of this and Craig's ability to sing almost the entire Mulan soundtrack, it seemed perfect to make the moment as magical as it could be. They celebrated their engagement with his parents while enjoying a crazy Thunderstorm, the Timewarp ride and finally Space Mountain rollercoaster. Craig also proposed in every park just so that Ashleigh knew how special she was to him. Since that moment of returning from Disney they have only grown stronger in their love for one and another. If they could build Ikea furniture together, nothing will stop them!

If they could survive COVID-19 and 2020 together....who cares about Ikea furniture!

Craig and Ashleigh hope their wedding will be something that their friends and families can enjoy all together. To celebrate love in its truest form after so long of being apart. They can't wait to share this moment of their adventure and story with you and many more to come in the future.

Finally, a fact about Ashleigh and Craig that most people don't know:

Craig still is "Craig the bank guy" in Ashleigh's phone, and Craig's favourite outfit that Ashleigh wears is to this day penguin sweater, sweat pants and hot pink crocs. Despite their many adventures together and apart, the most simple parts of their relationship still bring them the closest.
