Our Wedding

We have actually known each other since high school. We had mutual friends and followed each other on social media, but we never really talked. It is funny to think about now because we never imagined we would one day be building a family together.Everything started when I posted the song “A Través del Vaso” on my story. He replied to it, and that one little message turned into the beginning of our story. When we finally met up, he brought tamales that his mom had made, and I gave him a jello that my mom had made. We still laugh about that because it was so random and unexpected, but also kind of perfect.Later that same night we went to Imperial Night Club. We danced all night, had a few drinks, and it felt so natural to be together. I felt so safe and happy in his arms, and he still remembers me pulling his hair while we were dancing and both of us just laughing about it. The night went by way too fast, and neither of us wanted it to end.What started with a reply to a sad song, a tamale, and a jello turned into our first date, and honestly that date never really ended. From that night on we just clicked. Now here we are, raising our beautiful kids and about to receive the sacrament of marriage. Looking back, it still amazes us how something so small turned into everything we have today. En realidad nos conocemos desde la preparatoria. Teníamos amigos en común y nos seguíamos en redes sociales, pero nunca hablamos de verdad. Ahora nos da risa pensarlo, porque jamás imaginamos que algún día estaríamos construyendo una familia juntos.Todo comenzó cuando publiqué la canción “A Través del Vaso” en mi historia. Él respondió, y ese pequeño mensaje fue el inicio de nuestra historia. Cuando por fin nos vimos, él llegó con tamales que había hecho su mamá y yo le llevé una gelatina que había preparado la mía. Hasta el día de hoy nos reímos de eso porque fue algo inesperado, pero al mismo tiempo perfecto.Más tarde esa misma noche fuimos al Imperial Night Club. Bailamos toda la noche y todo se sintió tan natural entre nosotros. Me sentí tan segura y feliz en sus brazos, y todavía recordamos ese momento con una sonrisa. La noche se pasó demasiado rápido y ninguno de los dos quería que terminara.Lo que comenzó con la respuesta a una canción triste, unos tamales y una gelatina se convirtió en nuestra primera cita, y sinceramente esa cita nunca terminó. Desde esa noche simplemente conectamos. Hoy estamos aquí criando a nuestros hermosos hijos y a punto de recibir el sacramento del matrimonio. Al mirar atrás, todavía nos sorprende cómo algo tan pequeño se convirtió en todo lo que somos hoy.
