Olivier’s adventure began when he finished college and, with a sense of wanderlust, left the United States to embrace a new chapter in Brazil. Without speaking a word of Portuguese, he bravely moved to São Paulo, ready to take on the world and launch his first business. It wasn’t easy—starting a company in a foreign country is no small feat—but Olivier was determined.

Cristina, on the other hand, was already a part of the team when Olivier arrived. She didn’t exactly roll out the red carpet. In fact, she wasn’t his biggest fan during the first few months. His early arrogance seemed like a wall she couldn’t break down, and his lack of language skills was, at times, more frustrating than charming. But over time, Cristina began to see a different side of Olivier—what she first mistook for arrogance turned into confidence, what seemed like a lack of adaptability became resilience, and what looked like narcissism transformed into self-assuredness.

Despite their rocky start, a bond began to form. It was at a company party during the first year of the business when things really started to shift. After a few dances, they shared their first kiss. Olivier will insist to this day that Cristina planned the whole thing and created some elaborate trap, but the truth is, neither of them expected it. That kiss marked the beginning of something neither could deny.

What followed was a whirlwind romance that spanned continents, cultures, and countless experiences. They traveled to 15 countries, learned new languages, and grew both individually and together. Their relationship, which once seemed improbable, evolved into something unshakable. Over more than a decade, they supported each other through career changes, personal challenges, and all the ups and downs life threw their way.

Today, as we look back on our journey together, we’re amazed by how far we’ve come—from two people who barely understood each other’s worlds to a couple that’s built a life full of love, adventure, and growth. Our story proves that sometimes, the most unlikely partnerships are the ones that last forever.
