Should I RSVP digitally or by mail?
Both are acceptable - as long as it is done before June 1st.
What should I wear?
The attire for the wedding is cocktail. Guests can wear short or long dresses, suits with or without jackets, sophisticated jumpsuits, or dressy separates.
Children can wear whatever makes them the most comfortable and easiest for the parent to dress them in.
Please be aware that the weather will be hot and the venue is half indoor/half outdoor. Keep that in mind when making any decisions.
What should I NOT wear?
For gentlemen - please refrain from wearing shorts, short sleeve shirts, or open-toed shoes. Jackets are optional. The groomsmen are also wearing cream colored suits - so please take that into consideration as well.
For ladies - please refrain from wearing white (obviously) but also primarily white attire. For example if you have to google "white dress with flowers" that should be avoided. The bridesmaids are also wearing light pink - so please take that into consideration as well.
What about parking?
While there should be plenty of parking space at the venue it would be a good idea to carpool with another guest or be dropped off - especially if you intend on drinking throughout the evening.
When will it end?
The venue does not have a curfew where at a certain time everyone needs to leave. So you are free to party all night long!
Drinks?
A selection of wine and beer will be provided as well as a limited selection of cocktails. Water, sweet tea, and lemonade will also be provided for those that won't/can't partake.
Food?
Cocktail hour will provide a selection of meats and cheeses. Dinner will be catered locally by Swig and Swine.
Dessert will be cake and a variety of small deserts.
Late night will be a surprise ;)
What's the venue like?
The venue is a lake house that provides an open atmosphere between indoor and outdoor. Be aware that a majority of the space is outdoors as are a bunch of activities available. But the bride and groom made it an effort to provide shade coverings and fans for the outdoor spaces.
Where do I reserve the hotel?
There is a block of rooms available under the Oropesa/Schauder wedding at The Town and Country Inn and Suites - 2008 Savannah Highway Charleston, SC 29407. Though guests are free to reserve wherever they please and are most comfortable with.
