After a few back and forth messages on Hinge, Matt mustered up the courage to ask Cristina out to coffee. Our Story began on March 27th at New Roots Coffee House. Matt ordered the most disgusting drink ever, Cristina ordered a latte and the rest was history…. Just kidding, Matt thought after great conversation a second date was imminent until a good-bye “pat on the back” friend zone hug, left him questioning everything. However, we quickly moved past that and had our first dinner date at Rose Tavern.
Dinner was on March 30th, and started with 2 tequila shots, as Cristina said it was her favorite shot, looking back, Matt hates tequila shots and I’m pretty sure Cristina does too. Waiting for the effects of the tequila to wear off, we had a lot of time to talk and get to know each other. Matt was in disbelief of how amazing, beautiful and how easy it was to talk to Cristina. Matt quickly found out him and Cristina had similar interests in superhero movies, pizza, and teeth. Matt also learned that Cristina can’t get enough of his jokes and quick witted humor. He loves making Cristina laugh and roll her eyes like she is probably doing reading this right now.
In all seriousness, after many more dates and time spent together, Matt began to realize that the person he has been looking for, for so long, was right in front of him. An initial spark turned into a burning love. Matt and Cristina fell deep into love with each other and shortly after they moved in together! Living together their love grew stronger each and everyday. Matt and Cristina learned a lot about each other during this time, sharing similar life values and goals and also realizing they both hate doing laundry. With only a short time knowing each other, Matt knew Cristina was the one. With a trip to Italy in the works he knew that was the time and place he was going to propose.
Fast forward to proposal day, Matt hit a few obstacles, such as our driver changing our itinerary, almost getting stuck in a broken elevator, a rainstorm delaying the proposal, and an “over the top in your face” proposal occurring minutes before our special moment. Nonetheless, at the Hotel Sirenuse in Positano, Matt knew the time was perfect to ask Cristina to spend forever with him. She said Yes! Matt cannot imagine a future without Cristina, she is his best friend and love of his life. Matt and Cristina are so excited to celebrate their love with everyone and bring in 2025 as husband and wife.
Let’s Party!!
Cristina replied to Mathew on Hinge 30 days after he sent the initial message. She was shocked when he replied back within a couple of minutes. She agreed to a coffee date even though she was extremely nervous. She had no idea she was about to meet the man she’s been searching for her whole life. A 5’9” Italian Jew that gets hangry quickly and sleeps with a Superman statue next to his bed. Wow. Dreamy.
In all seriousness, Matthew has changed Cristina’s life for the better. In times of uncertainty, she is grateful the universe has brought them together. Their love for each other grew fast after their first dinner date at The Rose Tavern. They shared many more memorable times, including a cooking class, trips to Miami and Denver, and then a family trip to Italy that ended with an engagement.
Matthew is the most humble, supportive, and sensitive man Cristina has ever met.
She fell in love with Matthew’s love for life, ability to make everyone around him happy, and the love he has for his friends and family.
New Year’s Eve has been a very special holiday to Cristina’s family. The year she was born her mother decided that every year, they would throw a big New Year’s Eve party, so it’s only right to get married on their favorite day of the year.
We are so excited to celebrate our love and ring in the new year with all of our favorite people !!
LETS PARTAYYYY
