Our Story

Too Long Didn't Read: The Lord brought us together, I was vetted, passed the test, got Cristy's info, had a few dates that turned into a few days, then a few months, now we're getting married!

To Share A Bit More - Neither of us expected to find love online, but thanks to some roommate and cousin encouragement (and a lot of behind-the-scenes work), we found each other on Hinge. Cristy’s cousin actually ran her profile and, after some thorough questioning—during which I discovered there is a character limit on Hinge—she gave me Cristy’s number. Even before we met, I had a deep sense—which I can only describe as the Holy Spirit—that she would be the one.

Our first date felt natural and effortless. Soon, our time together was filled with spontaneous adventures: pop-up speakeasies, blizzard hikes, and long conversations. The dates began to blur together in the best way. On a snowy trail in Roxborough, we shared our stories and sensed a future forming. A few days later, on February 13th—exactly one month after we met—we made it official.

In the months that followed, we hiked, camped, met each other’s families, and fell in love. At Glacier National Park, sitting beside a quiet lake, I told her I loved her for the first time. “Those are big words,” she said—and after what felt like a lifetime, she replied, “I love you too.” It gave voice to what we had already come to know.

After a layoff, a job change, and five months of secret planning, I proposed—one year later—on a snowy hike up our mountain in Evergreen. The ring (tucked in a handcrafted olive wood box), the secretly filmed moment, and the question itself all caught Cristy completely by surprise. (I love sharing all the God-ordained moments leading up to that day—please ask me for the full story!)

She said yes—which brings us to today.

Why We’re Here

This wedding isn’t just a celebration—it’s a covenant. We believe God not only wrote our story, but also defined what full, life-giving love is and how it is to be lived out in marriage.

Today, we stand with you, our family as our witnesses, promising to love the way God designed it—daily, in the highs and the lows. We’ve prayed, waited, and worked toward this day not for the photos, but to honor the One who made us, brought today, and who will sustain our marriage when we are weary.

May this be a day of worship to God—a day of rejoicing, of resolve, and of sacred accountability. We invite you to remind us of the vows we make today and to walk alongside us in this new journey.

With love,

Okehmos & Cristy Soon-to-be-Olsen
