Our Wedding

Adam and Crystal met the night before Allison &amp; James DeCosemo's wedding- Adam was James' best man and Crystal was Allison's bridesmaid (so cliché). Adam first spotted Crystal during a drinking game ("Waterfall") across the table and they instantly locked eyes. Later that night after the rehearsal dinner, Adam asked Crystal what she was studying at Michigan State University. When she replied "dietetics", Adam wanted to know what he was eating in his diet that was causing him to fart so much! After going through each meal, Crystal told him to stop eating so much broccoli as it is high in fiber and was contributing to his frequent flatus. Anyway, they hit it off throughout the entire wedding weekend. Jon, Crystal's father, even noticed and approached Adam and said "So, I hear you're smitten with my daughter." To which Adam replied, "Why, yes sir. I'm a big fan." Thereafter, Adam would make many trips to see Crystal at Michigan State until he graduated from his Master's program at Northwood University and had to move back to England once his student visa expired. They became serious a few months later and endured a long-distance relationship for the next four years. They traveled together, spent many hours on Facetime, went a whole year without seeing each other during COVID travel bans, and dreamt about their future. Adam proposed at the top of a long, strenuous hike with a bad ankle sprain in the Lake District in England. And so began a 2-year-long Green Card process. After countless applications, forms, lawyers, and interviews, Adam was finally approved to move to the US in 2023! With 90 days to legally get married, they wrangled up their local friends and got hitched at the courthouse in Oregon. Now, they live in Oregon with their two sweet cats (Derek &amp; Lenny), enjoying their little life together at last. Their marriage would not be complete without celebrating with all of their loved ones in the same place and cannot wait to share this moment with each and every one of you!&nbsp;

Hood River is a small port town that is a VERY popular destination in the summer. Therefore, finding a hotel with an available block of rooms for our guests was nearly impossible. Below are a number of options that we recommend in the area. We recommend staying in Hood River, OR or White Salmon, WA (across the river, requires a $3 bridge fee each way).

We blocked 14 rooms at The Riverview Lodge for those wishing to stay in a local hotel-style accommodation. A two-night minimum is required. This will be the second shuttle stop, making logistics a breeze for you and your guests!

The Hampton Inn has given us a discount code for our guests to use with corporate code 0560027529 or by clicking the link below. A two-night minimum is required for the discount. This will be the first shuttle stop.

Hampton Inn & Suites Hood River

The wedding party will be staying here on a 2.5 acre vineyard. There is plenty of parking for those staying close by wanting to ride the shuttle. This will be the third and final shuttle stop.

There are plenty of Airbnb's &amp; Vrbo's in the area. We recommend staying close by one of the shuttle stops for easy transport. We also recommend booking a place with multiple other wedding guests to save on cost!

Hood River is home to a thriving brewery and cider culture. A few of our favorites include:1. Ferment Brewing Company: our all time favorite brewery in Hood River. Huge outdoor area with fire pits and a good place to check out the kite surfing scene.2. pFriem Family Brewer: right down by the water and within walking distance of Ferment if you fancy "brewery hopping".3. Double Mountain Brewery: right downtown. Great pizza!

Brewery Tour

One of our favorite parts about living in Oregon is the infinite access to vineyards. Oregon and Washington are well known for our Pinot Noir. Popular options in Hood River include:1. Stave &amp; Stone Winery: surrounded by a lavender farm and stunning views of Mt. Hood.2. Mt. Hood Winery: as the name implies- a gorgeous view of Mt. Hood to pair with your wine tasting experience.3. Cathedral Ridge Winery: award winning wine. And just so happens to be the property in which Crystal, Adam, and the bridal party are staying on. Grab a glass with the bride &amp; groom!

Wine Tasting

Can't decide between wine tasting, breweries, cideries, lavender gardens, and views of Mt. Hood? You can do it ALL via a self-guided tour, where you will encounter 32 on-the-farm fruit stands, wineries, breweries, cideries, and fields of flowers. The average trip taken on the Fruit Loop is 1 day. However, you can spend as little as a morning or as long as 2 days. There are even tour busses available such as through Columbia Wine Tours. 1. The "Fruit Loop"

Hood River is surrounded by endless hiking trails for all levels. Here are some of our favorites:1. Eagle Creek (moderate): fun waterfalls2. Angel's Rest (hard): gorgeous views, especially at sun set (bring a headlamp if going for sun set)3. Mirror Lake (moderate): beautiful view of Mt. Hood4. Ramona Falls (moderate): if you find yourself in Mt. Hood National Forest (~3 hours away from Hood River). Beautiful waterfall + views of Mt. Hood. Use caution when crossing the river.

Hiking

Being right on the Columbia River, Hood River offers endless opportunities to get in the water (kayaking, paddle boarding, kite surfing, etc). Rental companies in town include:1. ERS Equipment Rental2. Pure Stoke3. Peddle &amp; Paddle Hood River

Water Sports

Even in the summer/fall months, Mt. Hood has plenty to offer including hikes, relaxing lakes, skiing (if you're lucky!), and dining. Places we recommend this time of year:1. Trillium Lake (~55 min drive from Hood River)2. Timothy Lake (~1.5 hr drive from Hood River)3. Government Camp/Timberline Lodge: (~55 min drive from Hood River)- has a restaurant and chair lift to take you way above the tree line. Skiing available if there's still snow!

Explore Mount Hood

If you happen to be staying in Portland or find yourself in the city, we have endless recommendations for food, coffee, parks, and shopping. Just like any big city, there are good/safe parts and there are some not so nice parts. We recommend avoiding China Town/Downtown Portland and explore these main streets/areas instead:1. NW 23rd Street: tons of high end shopping, restaurants, gift stores, and coffee shops.2. SE Hawthorne Street: tons of thrifting, food trucks, and coffee shops.3. NE Mississippi Street: tons of food trucks, thrifting, coffee shops, and breweries.4. Forest Park: the "Central Park" of Portland. Plenty of hiking, gardens, and views of the city.
