Crystal and Donovan first met in a weight lifting class during their junior year of high school. Both had an eye for each other, but they were equally too shy to make the first move. Eventually Crystal caught Donovan after school one day after she missed her bus and asked him for a ride home. Donovan agreed only if she bought him a frosty from Wendy’s. FYI Donovan never got his frosty. Fast forward to freshman year of college Donovan and Crystal rekindled their friendship at UNC Charlotte. This go around Donovan knew he had to make his move. He made a conscious effort to “pop up” at the same parties and hang outs that Crystal would go to. After building their friendship throughout their freshman year, their friend group took a fall break trip to the mountains. After the trip Donovan was ready to take his and Crystal’s friendship to the next level. He asked Crystal out over a game of 21 questions, and the rest is history. From their first date at Terrace Cafe to their first time out of the country, their relationship has been filled with adventure, spontaneity, connection and love every step of the way. All of the different friends and family that they’ve met along the way have played a major part in their growth as people and in their relationship. They are excited to share this special moment with all of you, and excited to keep making memories that will last a life time.
