The date was April 7th 2021 when this story begins. The two of us put profiles on OKcupid.com. If you ask him it’s farmers only.com. After hours of swiping and dead ends profile bots, I saw his profile. This picture of him spoke to me. His eyes were kind and smile was absolutely genuine.. My sister being the good person she is nudged me to send him a hello. And so I did, and it began. We chatted over text the next couple weeks, between service calls, and me on my breaks and lunches. We spoke of how he had a parrot at his job and loved his profession and his Friday night unwinds at the bar. And I told him my dreams of being a chef, or going into nutrition. He asked me to meet following weekend, I declined as I was promised to help with a project for a family friend. Persistent, we talked through the next week he asked again. And I agreed…

Nervously, we met for morning coffee at The grindhause coffee house down town, he had raspberry tea, with his book in hand waiting patiently for me. I had mint tea and was punctually on time. We talked about our love of camping, food, our interests and we walked aimlessly around down town in Pueblo, Co talking for hours. Behind a few of the buildings, we found a family of squirrels that were running back and fourth in front of us. Jokingly he said oh look, it’s a long lost family member. Since I change subjects a lot he gave me the nickname squirrly girl and it stuck. Dinner at the pizza joint and I almost knocked over my drink with my fork but he asked for the second date. :)

The Second date, we dressed down ponytail up sunglasses on, showing him around Pueblo my home town… we got lost three times and decided to fire myself from giving directions . Since Rich calls himself a taco aficionado we went to Habanero’s . But the tacos were “just ok,” he said But not very authentic!
Date three. We found ourselves down town again walking in the early evening we found a fountain that was dimly lit, we danced and he sang to me to drown out the horrible band that was playing across the street. it was then. We both knew, this was love. Eyes locked swaying back and forth to him singing, this was 💕 love!
Fast forward to October 15, 2022. Amongst another beautiful day here in Colorado and a special day indeed. For I was bringing my beautiful girlfriend to meet the eldest of my sisters. Through a wonderful couple of days that we had seeing the beautiful sights of Colorado . We had ended the last day in-front of the Broadmoor Hotel by the fountain.
We had passed this location twice earlier in the couple of days prior and sometimes you just know the time is right, even when it’s unplanned. So I grabbed her and my sister and my brother in law and got down on one knee and asked her to marry me in-front of that beautiful fountain with all the horses . She loves horses. I had to act quick because she always catches on fast. When I proposed She kneeled down to meet me and said yes! She’s whole heartedly; elated and excited to be my future Mrs. Boutin and I her future Mr Boutin!
