Matt and Crystal met in Columbus when he was in town for work. That is where Crystal is originally from, and where she was bartending at the time at BW3s before getting her nursing degree. While he was in town for work, he and his coworkers would stop in to get something to eat after work. At first, Crystal just thought he was loud and obnoxious but then one of the nights, he talked her into going to get sushi with him and that was it! But after dating for about a year, they ended up going their separate ways.

Fast forward four years later to when Crystal got a random text from him about this silly quarter he was always looking for and how he finally found one! And they have been together ever since!

They got engaged the weekend after Thanksgiving of 2021 when they traveled to Baltimore for the weekend to visit friends and go to the Browns vs Ravens game that Sunday. Matt totally surprised Crystal and proposed at their friends' house that Friday evening!
