It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife. “Fortune,” of course, is generous in this particular sense but Connor was indeed a single man and seeking to find his true love.

‘Twas a late Summer’s night and love was in the Atlanta air. It was the evening of the first date between Cullen and Connor and, little did they know, fortune and destiny were about to unfold. Cullen had courageously accepted an invitation to an esteemed local restaurant destination from a young man she never met before nor had any mutual friends with. Scandalous, some may say, yet Cullen ignored conventional wisdom knowing at the time she had found something special.

Connor first stumbled upon Cullen on a prestigious courtship application known as “Hinge” where he was instantly smitten by her beauty, passion for the written word (reading books), and caring nature as a nurse. While in classical times, a suitor may have fought for a chance to earn her attention in the form of a duel or perhaps a dance of courtship at a local festival, Connor chose a more modern, yet equally chivalrous route. Knowing that he would be one of many potential suitors contending for her attention, he instead took to prose in the form of a “DM” correspondence on Instagram. While the exact vernacular is lost to history, legends have asserted that Cullen had acquiesced to the invitation on Instagram due to Connor’s Shakespearian diction, uncanny resemblance to a revered actor (see Will Poulter of the motion picture “We’re the Millers”) and authentic request to formally meet over cocktails at Del Bar.

Amongst the spirits and Sweet Dixie Champagne, Cullen and Connor shared joyous memories, a rather detailed and perhaps HIPAA-violating recollection of Cullen’s open-chest patient, and, unbeknownst to them, their hearts. Cullen’s introverted yet intuitive disposition found a puzzle-piece fit with Connor’s animated and curious nature. They were a match and the orchestra of destiny began to play her timeless symphony of love.

Their night of fortune was sealed with a kiss and, a few years later, an engagement ring on top of Harder Kulm in the Swiss mountains.
