Too Long Didn't Read: We met. We dated. We're gettin married!
Hey there, thanks for taking the time to look at our story! This is Cullen writing here with some notes from Madison included along the way.
Going into college my freshman year there were so many things that I wanted to do. Meet some friends, join some clubs, and maybe do some studying every now and then. One of the first clubs that really grabbed me was Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru). Madison and I first met at a Cru event. There wasn't much to our first interaction, just a simple "hey," or a "nice to meet you." Some time went by after that and we found each other in the same dorm one night with friends. I saw Madison sitting down with her arms folded in her lap and remember our first real meaningful interaction going like this...
Cullen- "Hey, are you a happy person? Like do you ever smile?"
Madison- "Uh, yes. Why are you asking me that?"
And for some reason, she took offense to that. (Madison's Note: I was just folding my arms because it was comfy and I thought he was rude).
And then we found ourselves in the same friend group. Madison did not like me after our first interaction but I ended up becoming good friends with her roommate. Since I was up on their floor often I would see Madison a lot. Over the next few months we became good friends and I found myself looking in her direction more and more. (Madison's note: I did too!). We started spending more time together and one specific night after having just sung to her (with the voice of Sinatra I might add) while playing the piano, we stopped on the sidewalk outside. Madison told me right there that "I like you, and I know you like me, so we should go talk about this". (Madison's note: I was really nervous and almost backed out from having this conversation). I stood there for a second flabbergasted and said "Yeah lets go talk :) "
Fast forward 4 years and here we are getting ready to spend the rest of our lives together! I think there are a lot of things that got us here but none more important than the love and support of Jesus, our friends, and family. We are so excited to share this day with you all. Thanks for your part in our story.
