After four years away at college in Winona Lake, Indiana, Halley returned home to Ohio and began a summer internship at her home church before her final year of grad school. Her first assignment was to attend a young adult retreat and begin building relationships. Little did she know that she would catch the eye of a guy she thought was "too cool" for her. Curtis took the next few weeks to pray over and ask some of Halley's friends if she would be open to going on a date with "someone", and they encouraged him to go for it. He seized the opportunity at a friend's birthday party, catching her during a volleyball game to get to know her and spend time with her the rest of the evening. That next week he would take her on their first date at Hinckley Lake, where he would ask her to marry him 411 days later.

Through several months of long-distance and cherished moments together, we have grown to love one another deeply and have decided to make a lifetime of that, as we commit first to knowing Christ and His love for us.
