Our Wedding

While we both graduated from Berwick in 2018, our paths did not really cross much, even though we attended the same schools since 6th grade. We both started at colleges at the opposite ends of the state, before we eventually both transferred to schools closer to home. Then came 2020. While the world was crazy and nobody really knew what was going on, we both ended up working as camp counselors at the YMCA. We had some mutual friends working with us, which is how we found out that we shared the same major. This led to us getting to know each other more and more over the next few months. In February of 2021, Tom asked me out on our first date. We went bowling at the P-nut Bowl. We went to Wendy's for dinner before bowling, which is where I later realized how much he was trying to impress me. They messed up our order and only gave us one drink, which he gave to me. After dating for a few months, I realized that during meals, he would always drink at least twice as much as me, and would occasionally finish mine too. When I asked him about that first date, he told me how much he was suffering (even though he insisted I drink it, saying he was fine) because he hates eating without a drink; he just wanted to make sure I was taken care of first. After our first date, we went on many more before making things official one month later. And we've been together ever since. In May of 2022, we moved in together, which eventually led to our next big commitment in December of 2022. We adopted our beloved Boo who became the third member of our little family. By May of 2023, we had both graduated and were ready to find our "adult jobs." The last bit of our story comes on Halloween 2024. Tom told me to take the day off so we could spend the day together (which ended up being a half day because I insisted on getting my kids set up and ready to start the day). Then we went off to Lewisburg for a corn maze (which we chose because I was already taking a half day, I figured I could pick up my new glasses too). After getting my glasses, we went to our final stop, Kohl's Stony Hill Tree Farm. The corn maze turned out not to be at all what we expected. The corn was only up to about our knees, but we made the best of it and ended our adventure on the bridge in the maze that had an overlook of the scenery. I wanted to take a picture, but Tom was taking too long to get his phone out, so I turned around, and that's when I saw him on one knee. It was an easy yes. And now we get ready for the next chapter in our story, one we hope you will all be a part of.
