The church Cynethia and David attend holds these retreats annually to bring people together for a weekend free of worldly distractions so full attention can be placed on fellowship and embracing God’s light. At the retreat, Cynethia found herself crossing paths with the friend who she had prayed for, Shannon King. Little did she know, this newfound friendship would pave the way to a serendipitous encounter with Phillip, the harbinger of destiny who insisted Cynethia meet his roommate, David.

In the grand theater of life, their circle of friends resembled a cast of characters straight out of a beloved sitcom. Among them, Cynethia and David stood as the aloof pair whose chemistry palpable to all yet elusive to themselves for three years.

As the years unfurled like the petals of a blooming flower, their friendship deepened through shared conversations, heartfelt prayers, and moments of pure joy. It was in these intimate exchanges that the seeds of love took root, blossoming into an unspoken desire to journey through life hand in hand.

So in 2021, David took a leap of faith, inviting Cynethia on their first date—a full day etched in the annals of their shared history. From the captivating Kaws exhibit at the High Museum of Art to a cozy lunch at Six Feet Under, and culminating in the enchanting performance at Perry Players Community Theater, each moment led the pair to wanting to spend more time together revealing by the minute not only similarities and shared interests but also how their differences complete the other. 

Their love, a beacon of resilience, weathered the storms of life with unwavering devotion. Through the trials of a global pandemic and the somber echoes of loss, including Cynethia’s Mama, Cynthia, who thankfully was able to meet David before passing, they found solace in each other, their bond fortified by the gentle rhythm of shared laughter and faithfulness in God.

Now, as they stand on the precipice of forever, Cynethia and David invite you to witness the culmination of their love story as they exchange vows on the 28th of July.
