Originally built as a fire engine house, now home to our favorite beers. Stop into this unique brewery to have a drink or two. Edward Teach Brewery carries the name of the infamous pirate, Blackbeard. The pirate theme is carried throughout the 10,000-sq foot facility. The downstairs bar is built to look like the front of a pirate ship, just like the “Queen Anne’s Revenge,” with curved lines, large windows, and hanging lights giving guests the feeling of being at sea. We hope you find some time to stop by!
I think the name says all you need to know, if you're into weird things this place is for you. A great place to visit to either cool off from the heat or dodge a rain shower.
Dinner with an ocean view? Yes, please! Bring your significant other here for a romantic date night! Delicious food and amazing views await you! Fun fact, Cynthia use to work here in college. Since being hit hard in 2018 by hurricane Florence, the inside of this restaurant has been beautifully renovated. Pro Tip: After dinner walk south on the beach (half a mile) to the end of the island to watch the sunset.

This bar is located on the top of the Embassy Suites, you might even choose to spend the night at this hotel during your stay in Wilmington as it is less than a mile walk to our venue!
67 Acers of beautiful historic gardens awaits you with exceptionally beautiful weather and blooms in the month of May! Advanced tickets are required to visit the Airlie Gardens so be sure to purchase yours ahead of time if you plan to stop by while in town. You may even get to witness another wedding from afar as Airlie is a popular place for couples to tie the knot.
Be sure to stop by Jeffs favorite breakfast place in town, Goody Goody Omelet House! Severing Wilmington since 1977 step inside this quaint dinner and step back in time. You won't find new decor, you won't even find a TV inside, what you will find is friendly people and delicious breakfast food. There might be a wait here for a seat, but we promise it's worth it!
A fun and unique pay by the ounce taproom with over 60 different craft beers and ciders, they even have some wines for wine lovers! Enjoy this pour yourself experience and try all different types of local drinks, you're sure to find something you love! Make sure you take a moment to check out the cool, old building this establishment is in, it used to be bank before it was a taproom and the new owners did a great job in preserving the buildings history.
Outdoor family fun for kids of all ages! Visit Jungle Rapids while you're in town and you can experience the water park, go kart racing, putt putt course, climbing wall, laser tag and more! Cynthia and Jeff enjoy putt putt courses when on vacation and have enjoyed this one a time or two. They actually played putt putt on the day of their engagement.

Lula's a Pub has been a favorite downtown hideaway in the Speakeasy tradition for nearly two decades. They have daily drink specials and every Sunday night feature Wilmington's longest running Pub Trivia at 8:00. There's a reason why their slogan is "if you can't find us, there's a reason". Located right next to our venue, head around back to find this hidden gem! Watch your head if you're tall and if you don't like small places this isn't for you!

We definitely recommend coming here hungry and trying one of their unique menu items. Pro Tip: This is a popular place with limited seating, be sure to call ahead or stop by early to get your name on the wait list.

If you find time for a round of disc golf, be sure to check out Castle Hayne Disc golf course. Mostly flat and wooded, this course is Jeff's favorite in Wilmington.
If you're looking for fresh, locally made pizza then Slice of Life is the place for you! This is a great mid-day or late-night stop for a snack as they sell pizza by the slice. Serving Wilmington since 1999 and voted best pizza in Wilmington since 2005 be sure to stop by for a slice, or two, or three :)

What's a trip to Wilmington without a barefoot walk on the beach!? Highly recommend visiting the beach while you are in town. Pro Tip: Visit the south end for the best sunset views and any of the beach accesses for a beautiful sunrise view!

Camping, hiking, biking, fishing and picnicking are amongst just a few things you can do when you visit Carolina Beach State Park. Cynthia and Jeff first visited this park in early 2020 when most of the world was shutting down and quickly fell in love with it. Jeff loves the many hiking paths and Cynthia loves the sunset views (of course lol).
Stop by the cargo district and enjoy a burger and beer at Mess Hall! A mixture of different businesses all built in cargo ship containers, be sure to stop by this unique part of town!
Once upon a time this was a neighborhood market, now serving up cold beer. Visit Satellite for a cold one, live music and a big backyard to chill in. They serve a wide variety of drinks, often have pop up local vendor markets and live music. Be sure to check out their Facebook page to see what's happening on the weekend of our wedding.
We love this local ice cream shop for many reasons! They are a local shop, not a big chain store, and they make their ice cream fresh! If you happen to be vegan or non-dairy they have delicious ice cream for you as well! Cynthia's go to is anything with chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate! Jeff prefers a fruity strawberry or blueberry! Whatever you choose, you can't go wrong!
Okay so we couldn't just pick one favorite ice cream place. Kilwins has many locations and maybe you've been before. Located in the heart of downtown Wilmington, you're likely to walk by and smell delicious waffle cones being made and see a long line down the sidewalk. If you don't mind waiting be sure to stop and get some ice cream or maybe some fudge, or maybe both ;) Cynthia's favorite is Fudgie Brownie, Jeff's favorite is Georgia Peach.
Serving up the best glazed donuts since 1939 you'll likely find a long line at Britts for a good reason. They are a local and tourists favorite must stop place with their simple but delicious hot glazed donuts. If you find yourself venturing down to Carolina Beach, make sure you add Britt's to your list of places to stop at.
