Adam and Cynthia's story began as any classic love story does: on a budget airline flight. On November 7, 2022, fate would place them next to each other on an Allegiant Airlines flight from Austin to Louisville. After Adam (cleverly) used the excuse of a “mixed-up seatbelt” to spark conversation, they spent the next couple hours chatting, laughing, and getting to know each other, including the discovery they both worked at UofL and lived only a half-mile away from each other!

Although it’s impossible to remember who contacted who later that week after returning home, there is no doubt they hit it off again with an official first date at The Pearl (best old fashioneds in Louisville) where they talked for no less than 4 hours. It was obvious a second date was in order.

That second date happened of course, as did a countless number of dates afterwards. Over the next few years, they spent so many fun days, nights, and weekends together. They found out they were awesome travel partners, putting that skill to good use both internationally (Costa Rica, Banff/Jasper) and domestically (NYC, Seattle, Charleston, and Savannah). They realized a shared taste in good music and attending concerts/festivals with one another. They learned they loved to cook together (and eat each other’s cooking). They met (and genuinely enjoy!) each other’s friends and family. And most importantly, they discovered an immense feeling of comfort and love being together, the kind of feeling you get when you know you’ve met your forever person.

That all led to them buying a beautiful house together in April 2025. And on the back deck of that house, Adam got down onto one knee and proposed to Cynthia on August 17, 2025 (she said yes!).

As they begin this next chapter of their story, Adam and Cynthia are so grateful to share it with you and hope for the opportunity to celebrate our marriage with you on December 27, 2025 in Louisville!
