Jules and I had a quick courthouse wedding with my kids, my mom, and Jules's best friend and his partner present.&nbsp; I had my photographer there and she took some amazing photos for us!&nbsp; Then we went on the most amazing honeymoon to Colorado!&nbsp; 
 
After our return, Jules and I got started on a side project of renovating the house Janet left him in Waynesville.&nbsp; It has been a fun but stressful first year together.&nbsp; Renovations and moving were a nightmare.&nbsp; 
 
I was super sad about having to postpone the wedding and reception.&nbsp; I was almost gonna just cancel and not send out invites. I had even told my sisters I wasn't gonna do it. 
 
 The "wedding stuff" boxes in the shed needed to be gone through and pieces pulled out that I had planned to reuse in my home.&nbsp; Then I see the bottles and bottles of Biltmore wine I had bought and the fancy disposable plates for dinner.&nbsp; I saw all the crafts that had been made and remembered all the work I had already put in.&nbsp; It was pretty much already paid for. Just needed to feed everyone and some beverages other than wine.&nbsp; I thought about the ceremony script I had customized and the music I had selected for different parts of the day.&nbsp; 
 
I changed my mind and told Jules that I wanted to have our big day anyway.&nbsp; So here we are!&nbsp; We need the party and I bet you do too!&nbsp;

Our Wedding

When&nbsp;we&nbsp;first&nbsp;met,&nbsp;it&nbsp;was&nbsp;towards&nbsp;the&nbsp;beginning&nbsp;of&nbsp;2021&nbsp;at&nbsp;work.&nbsp;We&nbsp;both&nbsp;weren't&nbsp;looking&nbsp;for&nbsp;anything&nbsp;at&nbsp;all.&nbsp;Without&nbsp;the&nbsp;both&nbsp;of&nbsp;us&nbsp;knowing&nbsp;of&nbsp;each&nbsp;other's&nbsp;personal&nbsp;life&nbsp;at&nbsp;that&nbsp;time,&nbsp;we&nbsp;actually&nbsp;discovered&nbsp;quickly&nbsp;we&nbsp;were&nbsp;not&nbsp;happy&nbsp;with&nbsp;the&nbsp;life&nbsp;we&nbsp;were&nbsp;living&nbsp;outside&nbsp;of&nbsp;work.&nbsp;It&nbsp;all&nbsp;started&nbsp;by&nbsp;scheduling&nbsp;a&nbsp;photo&nbsp;shoot.&nbsp;Our&nbsp;first&nbsp;kiss,&nbsp;felt&nbsp;magical.&nbsp;It&nbsp;felt&nbsp;like,&nbsp;something&nbsp;that&nbsp;you&nbsp;just&nbsp;did&nbsp;not&nbsp;want&nbsp;to&nbsp;let&nbsp;go,&nbsp;and&nbsp;just&nbsp;had&nbsp;to&nbsp;keep&nbsp;wondering&nbsp;what&nbsp;if&nbsp;?&nbsp;Although,&nbsp;even&nbsp;though&nbsp;after&nbsp;that&nbsp;kiss,&nbsp;we&nbsp;began&nbsp;getting&nbsp;closer&nbsp;and&nbsp;closer,&nbsp;folks&nbsp;around&nbsp;us&nbsp;began&nbsp;to&nbsp;ponder&nbsp;about&nbsp;the&nbsp;two&nbsp;of&nbsp;us.&nbsp;We&nbsp;kept&nbsp;it&nbsp;hidden&nbsp;for&nbsp;a&nbsp;bit,&nbsp;well&nbsp;we&nbsp;tried&nbsp;to&nbsp;at&nbsp;least&nbsp;for&nbsp;many&nbsp;reasons.&nbsp;With&nbsp;something&nbsp;so&nbsp;fresh,&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;excitement&nbsp;that&nbsp;it&nbsp;brought&nbsp;to&nbsp;us,&nbsp;it&nbsp;eventually&nbsp;came&nbsp;out.&nbsp;Along&nbsp;side,&nbsp;many&nbsp;challenges,&nbsp;many&nbsp;talks,&nbsp;being&nbsp;slightly&nbsp;fearful&nbsp;of&nbsp;this&nbsp;relationship&nbsp;because&nbsp;of&nbsp;us&nbsp;both&nbsp;being&nbsp;hurt&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;past,&nbsp;that&nbsp;we&nbsp;didn't&nbsp;know&nbsp;how&nbsp;far&nbsp;it&nbsp;would&nbsp;end&nbsp;up&nbsp;going....&nbsp;Making&nbsp;a&nbsp;strong&nbsp;decision&nbsp;to&nbsp;do&nbsp;whatever&nbsp;it&nbsp;took,&nbsp;to&nbsp;show&nbsp;Cynthia&nbsp;how&nbsp;I&nbsp;was&nbsp;going&nbsp;to&nbsp;be&nbsp;there&nbsp;for&nbsp;her&nbsp;through&nbsp;it&nbsp;all...she&nbsp;and&nbsp;the&nbsp;kids&nbsp;moved&nbsp;in&nbsp;with&nbsp;me&nbsp;July&nbsp;of&nbsp;2021.&nbsp;Then&nbsp;getting&nbsp;our&nbsp;own&nbsp;place&nbsp;together&nbsp;in&nbsp;October&nbsp;of&nbsp;2021.&nbsp;We&nbsp;both&nbsp;never&nbsp;imagined,&nbsp;from&nbsp;how&nbsp;we&nbsp;started&nbsp;out,&nbsp;that&nbsp;it&nbsp;would&nbsp;eventually&nbsp;be&nbsp;a&nbsp;partnership&nbsp;type&nbsp;of&nbsp;love,&nbsp;through&nbsp;all&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;good&nbsp;times&nbsp;and&nbsp;bad&nbsp;times&nbsp;to&nbsp;was&nbsp;to&nbsp;come&nbsp;our&nbsp;way.&nbsp;&nbsp;A&nbsp;kind&nbsp;of&nbsp;love&nbsp;that&nbsp;you&nbsp;just&nbsp;don't&nbsp;want&nbsp;to&nbsp;live&nbsp;without,&nbsp;makes&nbsp;you&nbsp;feel&nbsp;empty&nbsp;without&nbsp;your&nbsp;person,&nbsp;that&nbsp;type&nbsp;of&nbsp;love&nbsp;that&nbsp;we&nbsp;are&nbsp;here&nbsp;for&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;struggling&nbsp;times&nbsp;and&nbsp;all&nbsp;of&nbsp;our&nbsp;adventures&nbsp;that&nbsp;we&nbsp;have&nbsp;gone&nbsp;through&nbsp;together.&nbsp;That&nbsp;type&nbsp;of&nbsp;love&nbsp;that&nbsp;is&nbsp;pure&nbsp;and&nbsp;honest,&nbsp;even&nbsp;though&nbsp;might&nbsp;have&nbsp;had&nbsp;doubts&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;beginning,&nbsp;we&nbsp;both&nbsp;grew&nbsp;from&nbsp;everything&nbsp;that&nbsp;we&nbsp;have&nbsp;encountered&nbsp;together&nbsp;as&nbsp;a&nbsp;couple.&nbsp;To&nbsp;be&nbsp;able&nbsp;to&nbsp;call&nbsp;each&nbsp;other--&nbsp;best&nbsp;friends&nbsp;also,&nbsp;is&nbsp;a&nbsp;blessing.&nbsp;As&nbsp;time&nbsp;has&nbsp;passed,&nbsp;we&nbsp;both&nbsp;have&nbsp;grown&nbsp;as&nbsp;individuals,&nbsp;and&nbsp;learning&nbsp;more&nbsp;about&nbsp;one&nbsp;another.&nbsp;&nbsp;December&nbsp;11th,&nbsp;2022,&nbsp;would&nbsp;be&nbsp;a&nbsp;day&nbsp;we&nbsp;both&nbsp;would&nbsp;not&nbsp;forget.&nbsp;Remembering&nbsp;that&nbsp;day,&nbsp;as&nbsp;if&nbsp;it&nbsp;were&nbsp;yesterday.&nbsp;That&nbsp;day&nbsp;seemed&nbsp;like&nbsp;another&nbsp;fabulous&nbsp;day&nbsp;at&nbsp;The&nbsp;Biltmore&nbsp;Estate,&nbsp;a&nbsp;place&nbsp;we&nbsp;both&nbsp;love.&nbsp;Cynthia&nbsp;had&nbsp;planned&nbsp;for&nbsp;us&nbsp;to&nbsp;go&nbsp;there&nbsp;to&nbsp;simply&nbsp;spend&nbsp;quality&nbsp;time&nbsp;together.&nbsp;It&nbsp;was&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;air,&nbsp;I&nbsp;could&nbsp;almost&nbsp;feel&nbsp;the&nbsp;vibrations&nbsp;coming&nbsp;off&nbsp;from&nbsp;the&nbsp;both&nbsp;of&nbsp;us.&nbsp;At&nbsp;that&nbsp;time,&nbsp;she&nbsp;didn't&nbsp;know,&nbsp;actually&nbsp;no&nbsp;one&nbsp;at&nbsp;all&nbsp;knew,&nbsp;what&nbsp;I&nbsp;was&nbsp;planning.&nbsp;She&nbsp;took&nbsp;me&nbsp;down&nbsp;by&nbsp;the&nbsp;water&nbsp;fall&nbsp;on&nbsp;the&nbsp;grounds&nbsp;at&nbsp;Biltmore.&nbsp;Her&nbsp;voice&nbsp;even&nbsp;seemed&nbsp;different&nbsp;compared&nbsp;to&nbsp;how&nbsp;she&nbsp;normally&nbsp;is&nbsp;when&nbsp;she&nbsp;talks&nbsp;to&nbsp;me.&nbsp;During&nbsp;those&nbsp;moments,&nbsp;I&nbsp;had&nbsp;a&nbsp;small&nbsp;gut&nbsp;wrenching&nbsp;feeling,&nbsp;but&nbsp;was&nbsp;not&nbsp;quite&nbsp;sure&nbsp;that&nbsp;it&nbsp;was&nbsp;about&nbsp;to&nbsp;really&nbsp;begin&nbsp;tostart&nbsp;our&nbsp;journey.&nbsp;She&nbsp;set&nbsp;up&nbsp;her&nbsp;tripod&nbsp;with&nbsp;her&nbsp;camera,&nbsp;motioned&nbsp;me,&nbsp;positioned&nbsp;me&nbsp;with&nbsp;her&nbsp;to&nbsp;pose&nbsp;for&nbsp;the&nbsp;camera....&nbsp;after&nbsp;a&nbsp;few&nbsp;shots,&nbsp;she&nbsp;began&nbsp;to&nbsp;have&nbsp;this&nbsp;sudden&nbsp;serious&nbsp;yet&nbsp;romantic&nbsp;talk&nbsp;with&nbsp;me&nbsp;about&nbsp;us.&nbsp;She&nbsp;proceeded&nbsp;to&nbsp;get&nbsp;down&nbsp;one&nbsp;her&nbsp;knee&nbsp;with&nbsp;a&nbsp;ring&nbsp;for&nbsp;me&nbsp;asking&nbsp;"&nbsp;Will&nbsp;you&nbsp;marry&nbsp;me?&nbsp;"&nbsp;and&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;moment,&nbsp;I&nbsp;was&nbsp;certainly&nbsp;glad&nbsp;I&nbsp;brought&nbsp;with&nbsp;me,&nbsp;her&nbsp;engagement&nbsp;ring.&nbsp;I&nbsp;pulled&nbsp;it&nbsp;out&nbsp;of&nbsp;my&nbsp;top&nbsp;pocket&nbsp;of&nbsp;my&nbsp;red/black&nbsp;flannel.&nbsp;I&nbsp;also,&nbsp;asked&nbsp;her&nbsp;the&nbsp;question&nbsp;&nbsp;"&nbsp;Will&nbsp;you&nbsp;marry&nbsp;me&nbsp;?"&nbsp;&nbsp;We&nbsp;both&nbsp;said&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;"YES".&nbsp;My&nbsp;heart&nbsp;was&nbsp;melting,&nbsp;thinking&nbsp;this&nbsp;is&nbsp;really&nbsp;happening.&nbsp;Since&nbsp;the&nbsp;day&nbsp;we&nbsp;got&nbsp;engaged,&nbsp;we&nbsp;have&nbsp;had&nbsp;multiple&nbsp;challenges&nbsp;come&nbsp;our&nbsp;way.&nbsp;Still&nbsp;we&nbsp;have&nbsp;stuck&nbsp;it&nbsp;out&nbsp;together.&nbsp;We&nbsp;are&nbsp;both&nbsp;different&nbsp;in&nbsp;lots&nbsp;of&nbsp;ways,&nbsp;yet&nbsp;we&nbsp;have&nbsp;found&nbsp;a&nbsp;beauty&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;ways&nbsp;we&nbsp;are&nbsp;alike.&nbsp;Must&nbsp;admit&nbsp;God&nbsp;brought&nbsp;us&nbsp;together,&nbsp;that's&nbsp;100%&nbsp;the&nbsp;truth.&nbsp;Along&nbsp;side,&nbsp;both&nbsp;of&nbsp;us&nbsp;not&nbsp;wanting&nbsp;to&nbsp;give&nbsp;up&nbsp;on&nbsp;each&nbsp;other&nbsp;as&nbsp;a&nbsp;couple.Never&nbsp;did&nbsp;we&nbsp;see&nbsp;all&nbsp;of&nbsp;this&nbsp;coming&nbsp;in&nbsp;the&nbsp;beginning,&nbsp;but&nbsp;we&nbsp;sure&nbsp;are&nbsp;glad&nbsp;it&nbsp;did&nbsp;happen&nbsp;the&nbsp;way&nbsp;it&nbsp;did.
