Cyrus and Emily met through Hinge in Fall 2020. Cyrus was in his last year of medical school and Emily was starting her new job as a nurse.

They had chemistry on the first date (Emily is saying “ooookayyyyy” at this line). Cyrus thought there was chemistry on the first date… and a second date was on the horizon… like 2 months and a triple text later from Cyrus.

The third date happened sometime around when Emily’s dad got very sick with COVID. Cyrus was unexpectedly present during this time, especially for someone who was still very new in Emily’s life. This gesture meant a lot to Emily and opened up more opportunities for the two to spend time together.

They went on their first trip to SLO in Feb 2021, and shortly after, made their relationship official! The rest is history!

Notably, they remained 60+ miles apart throughout this whole relationship. They each traversed many miles - through traffic, post-night shifts, etc.

Emily allegedly had an inkling that she would marry Cyrus after the first date. This became a true thought when Emily rolled her ankle for the first time at mile 6 of a Waimea Canyon Hawaiian beach cliff hike. She told him: “Leave me to die!!!”… he carried her back~
