D’onna Brown & Marcus Goodson

Every great love story starts with a moment — one that changes everything. Ours began in Downtown Detroit (Greektown) , where two people from different walks of life crossed paths and found something rare and real. From our very first conversation, there was a connection we couldn’t ignore. It didn’t take long for friendship to grow into something deeper.

Over the last six years, we’ve shared laughter, lessons, road trips, late-night talks, and quiet mornings — building not just a relationship, but a life. On November 13th, 2021, Marcus asked D’onna the easiest question she’s ever had to answer: “Will you marry me?” And of course, she said yes — with tears, joy, and a heart full of love.

Our greatest adventure so far? Becoming parents to our beautiful daughter, Harper Dior Goodson, who’s been lighting up our world for four incredible years. She’s our greatest joy and our biggest reminder of how strong our bond is.

We’re excited to say “I do” on September 20th, surrounded by the people who have supported our journey from the beginning.

Some of our favorite things to do together includes binge watching our favorite movies & tv shows, going out to eat, going on late night drives listening to music & traveling! No matter where we are or what we’re doing, we’re happiest just being together.

At the heart of our relationship are the values we both hold dear: God, Respect, Loyalty, Love, & most importantly Grace. These have been the foundation of our love and the compass that guides us as we take this next step.

We’re so grateful for the love, laughter, and lessons that brought us to this moment — and we can’t wait to continue writing our story as husband and wife.
