Our Wedding

A mutual friend encouraged Aaliyah to join the celebration, even though it was an ordinary weeknight. That evening, she ended up driving Jake to the bar as the sober driver, and their first interaction was nothing more than a polite hello. Still, destiny often works quietly, and their true beginning came months later when Jake reached out after seeing Aaliyah post a photo wearing a Tom Brady jersey.From that small spark grew a love that has flourished for more than seven years.	Through every season of life, they have walked side by side—Jake supporting Aaliyah as she pursued her nursing degree, her master’s, and now her doctorate. Along the way they built a life filled with adventure both big and small: cheering together in packed stadiums as loyal Steelers fans, welcoming Bandit—Jake’s farm cat turned city companion—into their first apartment, and filling their days with laughter, resilience, and countless shared memories.	In July 2022, they moved into their first home together, beginning the next chapter of building a life side by side. Since then, their days have been filled with new adventures, meaningful milestones, and the kind of memories that turn a house into a home.	In the summer of 2025, Jake planned a moment Aaliyah would never forget.While hiking together in Banff National Park, the two found themselves alone along the breathtaking shoreline of Emerald Lake. Surrounded by towering mountains and crystal-blue water, Jake got down on one knee beside the lake and asked Aaliyah to spend forever with him.In that quiet, beautiful place—just the two of them—she said yes.	From a quiet mountain lake in Banff to a garden filled with blooms, Aaliyah and Jake are ready to begin their most cherished chapter yet—surrounded by the love of family and friends.

Their story began on November 29, 2017—Jake’s 20th birthday.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you. Here are a few details to help you prepare for the day. Ceremony 4:00 PM Green Hill Farm Sharpsburg, Maryland Guests are encouraged to arrive 15–20 minutes early. Cocktail Hour Immediately following the ceremony Drinks and light bites will be served Reception Dinner, drinks, and dancing to follow under the tent Transportation Shuttle service will be provided to and from the Hampton Inn in Charlestown. Multiple trips will run both before and after the event. Attire Formal attire is requested. We encourage elegant evening wear in classic silhouettes. Darker and neutral tones are preferred, including black, navy, charcoal, champagne, and soft earth tones. Black attire is welcome. Suits or tuxes are appropriate for gentlemen, and long dresses or elevated cocktail attire for ladies. Please consider the outdoor setting when selecting footwear. We kindly ask guests to refrain from using phones during the ceremony. We respectfully request an adults-only celebration.
