When planning a trip to Cebu in January 2025, here are some important considerations to keep in mind:

Wedding Festivities:

- We don't have any room blocks so please book your accommodations ahead of time.

- Chateau de Busay is a popular venue so although we are not providing a shuttle service for guests to get there, you will easily get a taxi, grab, or Uber to take you there.

- We are offering a shuttle bus from Cebu City to Alcoy for guests attending the Beach Party. But, we will not be providing a shuttle back to the city.

- If you need assistance in booking some tours or other activities, please reach out to us at bradleyandgianine@gmail.com or shoot us a message (289) 654-1581.

- We will not be providing guests accommodations in the city or Alcoy. However, we've provided a few options on the 'Places to Stay' page.

Weather

- Climate: January is part of the dry season in Cebu, with pleasant weather, less rain, and cooler temperatures. It’s an ideal time for outdoor activities and beach outings.

- Clothing: Pack light and breathable clothing for the warm days, and bring a light jacket or sweater for cooler evenings.

Travel and Accommodation

- Flights: Book flights early, as January is a popular travel time.

- Accommodation: Reserve hotels or resorts in advance, especially in tourist-heavy areas like Cebu City, Mactan, and popular beach destinations.

Transportation

- Local Transport: Familiarize yourself with local transportation options, such as taxis, jeepneys, buses, and ride-hailing services like Grab and Uber.

- Car Rentals: Consider renting a car for greater flexibility, especially if you plan to explore areas outside the city.

Attractions and Activities

- Popular Sites: Plan visits to major attractions like Magellan's Cross, Basilica del Santo Niño, Fort San Pedro, and the beautiful beaches and dive spots in Moalboal, Malapascua, and Bantayan Island.

- Festivals: January is the month of the Sinulog Festival, Cebu's biggest and most famous cultural event. Plan to attend the festival, but be prepared for large crowds and busy streets.

Health and Safety

- Vaccinations: Ensure you are up-to-date on routine vaccinations. Consider getting vaccinated for Hepatitis A and Typhoid, especially if you plan to visit rural areas.

- Health Precautions: Carry hand sanitizer, mosquito repellent, and any personal medications. Drink bottled or purified water to avoid waterborne illnesses.

- Travel Insurance: Option but recommended - obtain travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and lost luggage.

Cultural Considerations

- Respect Local Customs: Be mindful of local customs and traditions, especially during religious visits and festivals.

- Language: While English is widely spoken, learning a few basic Cebuano phrases can be helpful and appreciated by locals.

Money and Expenses

- Currency: The local currency is the Philippine Peso (PHP). Carry some cash for small purchases, but credit cards are accepted in most hotels, restaurants, and shops.

- Budgeting: Plan your budget for accommodations, food, activities, and transportation. Cebu offers options for various budgets, from luxury resorts to budget-friendly hostels.

Connectivity

- Internet and Mobile: Ensure your mobile phone is unlocked for use with a local SIM card. Most hotels and cafes offer free Wi-Fi, but it’s useful to have mobile data for navigation and communication.

Miscellaneous

- Time Zone: Cebu is in the Philippine Time Zone (PHT), which 12 hours ahead of EST.

- Electrical Outlets: The standard voltage is 220V. Bring a universal adapter if your devices use a different voltage or plug type.

By considering these factors, you can ensure a smooth and enjoyable trip to Cebu in January 2025.
