The year is 2014. Jack, who had had limited interactions with girls, and Daisy, who struggled to interact with anyone who doesn’t have four legs, meet after Uckfield Theatre Guild’s production of Oliver. It was obviously Jack’s excellent portrayal of Noah that struck love at first sight because Daisy decided to join.

Rehearsals started and Daisy and Jack started a (they aren’t ashamed to say it) somewhat awkward friendship. Thanks to Jack’s persistence, they got to know each other over Facebook Messenger and on the 6th March 2015, during a very romantic viewing of Shrek, Jack asked Daisy to be his girlfriend.

Along with a great cast of friends, the two of them performed in Half a Sixpence in April 2015 as shop workers, along with a very memorable performance as Romeo and Juliet in the song ‘Flash Bang Wallop’. The director must have known it was love! Then followed a great summer of new relationship romance, getting closer alongside a lot of Domino’s pizza.

In August 2015, Jack received a place at the University of Bath and reality hit that they would be living apart for the majority of the year. Being left behind in Uckfield was hard for Daisy but thanks to discounted train travel, this began the era of travel. The next two years involved a lot of trips between Uckfield and Bath and many memories were made.

In 2017, Jack moved back to Buxted for his placement year with EY but, just their luck, this was the year that Daisy flew the nest as she had got a place at the University of Winchester to train to be a teacher.

When Jack returned to Bath in 2018, they both had two years of Uni left. This meant there were frequent trips between Winchester and Bath that included great times with friends, many house parties and lots of takeaways!

As they met at a theatre group, it is of no surprise to anyone that Jack and Daisy have a mutual love of musical theatre. During their relationship the majority of their free time (and money) has been spent in London’s West End. Of course preceded by a meal out!

Jump to August 2021 and Daisy and Jack, after having spent a year living with the respective parents to save, bought their first home together in Haywards Heath. In February 2023, the next natural step was to adopt their beloved cat, Domino (you can guess how he was named). They are now a family of three.

On 14th April 2023, Jack got down on one knee at Berry Head lighthouse in Brixham, a place very special to them as it was their first holiday destination. Once she had stopped crying, a very shocked Daisy said yes!

They are really looking forward to celebrating their special day with friends and family who have been a part of their story.
